Good catch! That's mostly true in the harlockverse. The main reason she was able to summon Karla away from Tara will be revealed in the next chapter!

It’s interesting that she can be summoned at all. I mean I don’t know the magic rules for the Harlockverse, but usually a mage type can’t summon another mage’s familiar unless the being that is being summoned is from another plane, usually one of what most universes say are the outer planes, ie celestial, infernal or elemental for example.
