This takes me back to my days playing Second Life. My character spent days and weeks stuck as a statue in gardens or around pools. My favorite was as a maiden holding a pitcher poring water into a pool. Unfortunately there was hardly anyone around to admire a beautiful statue.

Ghosthand

I disagree. Once turned into statues they become objects and no longer fall under any workers rights laws and become the property of the artist. Now if the former person was owned by someone else there may be a lawsuit to regain ownership but that would be material ownership vs creator ownership. That would probably be a long and drawn out lawsuit though and probably wind up with the statue being sold and profits split between the two parties. And to Mike K, they would be considered artwork and not be eligible for depreciation but two fine pieces of artwork like above would certainly appreciate over time!

No, actually you must pay them a Salary or hourly for being on the job constantly =P

Are statues, who used to be people, if they are used for business, able to be depreciated for tax purposes? Asking for a friend......
