Chapter 23 Accumulation of rewards

She had chased Connors all the way; wasn't it to find "Spider-Silk" Cindy? Although she didn't know Cindy, she had done her homework before coming. As soon as she saw the spider silk sticking to the supercar, she understood that her trip had not been in vain.
Unfortunately, when she was finally let down from mid-air, a lot of milky-white, sticky spider silk was wrapped around her body, so she had no choice but to find a hotel to wash up first and change her clothes.
The original black stockings and suspender skirt were discarded. She changed into a red, hip-covering gown with a wide-open neckline. The scenery of her snow-capped cleavage trembled as she walked. The red gown, which was exactly the same from top to bottom, was embellished with only a thin, narrow gold belt. Paired with her already delicate and three-dimensional facial features and her large, slightly curly red waves of hair, she looked stunning. When she came out of the hotel, she left the front desk staff so wide-eyed they were speechless.
In the hotel lobby, several young men were sitting on the sofa doing nothing. Their eyes lit up after seeing Natasha. They were about to strike up a conversation, but they were glanced at coldly by the woman, and they were all silent.
Picking up a taxi, Natasha gave an address, ignored the driver's frequent peeping eyes through the rearview mirror, and put on a pair of glasses. Among the glasses, the tracker signal she had just hidden on Connors in a more stealthy way flickered.
An hour later, Natasha stood in front of the nineteenth-floor door of an apartment, silently counting the time. Inside the door, there were gasps and the sounds of impact from a man and a woman.
Natasha finally waited until the voices stopped. Just as she was about to knock on the door, she heard Connors say something inside: "One more time."
Still going?! Counting the travel time, she had given enough time to these two. How could this be?
It was another half hour. During that time, Natasha refused the kindness of Connors's next-door neighbor who had invited her to be a guest. When she heard no more noise inside, she raised her hand to knock.
Connors, with a post-coital cigarette in his mouth, could not have been surprised to see "Black Widow" leaning against the door in a rather seductive red gown, laughing.
"I knew you would follow." With the existence of "spider-sensing," Black Widow could not hide it from him with a bug-like tracker thrown at her by the wind and noise of the supercar drifting.
However, "The Flash" Barry Allen had already gone to the future to see it. "No future" meant that something big would definitely happen. In this way, "Spider-Silk" Cindy Moon really had to follow Natasha for a while. On the way back to the apartment with Cindy, Connors had already said this. Cindy was taciturn along the way, but when she arrived at the apartment, she was more enthusiastic than ever before. She answered with her actions whether she would "go or not."
On a night in Gotham, Connors was finally left alone to guard the empty house again.
Cindy was picked up by Natasha, and the two left in a sci-fi plane that descended from the sky, targeting New York, not far from Gotham City. Before leaving, taking advantage of "Spider-Silk's" inattention, "Black Widow" quietly slipped Connors a card with her private contact details and a whisper.
"If you have the opportunity, you can come to New York and try it."
Try what… Connors understood. He would definitely be going to New York, but not now. Connors's melon-eating mission in Gotham, the "Laughing Man" incident, was still in progress. After this incident was over, if there were no other major events, he could go there.
After seeing that the time was approaching midnight and there should be nothing new, he turned on the system.
[Yesterday's Big Melon: The Tied Black Widow]
[Yesterday's Big Melon: I have a close relationship with Shayna]
[Eating Melon Today: The Laughing Man Incident (ongoing) - The Battle of the Broken Back]
[Eating Melon Today: The Laughing Man Incident (ongoing) - The Birth of Nightwing]
[Eating Melon Today: With Cindy Moon, I know the root cause]
Five large melons of full weight! Last night he had gone to the Penguin's Iceberg Lounge to cause trouble, then to work in Shayna's hotel, and then to Batman's broken back in the early morning. A series of events had prevented him from submitting yesterday's melon-eating tasks in time, and they had accumulated together until today.
[Reward accumulation, submit it?]
There was nothing to hesitate about. Connors decisively submitted the accumulated melon-eating rewards.
[Melon-eating reward: Human Body Limit] [Human Body Limit: Including but not limited to strength, senses, reflexes, speed, sex, endurance, and spirit]
Here it comes! It finally comes! The reward in terms of physical fitness that Connors had long awaited had finally arrived! After a closer look at the reward, Connors knew that his current physical fitness should be about the same as Batman's, which was the highest level of normal human fitness. However, his self-healing ability, metabolism, and other aspects had not been significantly improved, because that was no longer in the category of normal humans.
But, this reward came a little late, Connors thought with regret.
Right now, Harley Quinn had disappeared, seemingly taken by Poison Ivy. Cindy Moon had followed Natasha and gone. In all of Gotham, only Shayna was left who had had a "deal" with Connors. And Shayna wasn't known for her physicality.
Fortunately, he had just ended his fight with "Spider-Silk" Cindy more than ten minutes ago. He was still in a state of post-coital clarity, and his thoughts quickly turned to the Joker. The current chain of events was almost all related to the Joker, and "The Man Who Laughs" incident was always shown to be ongoing. It wasn't Connors's style to keep waiting; he intended to take the initiative and make the incident happen faster.
He casually controlled "the Green of All Things" and turned the clown-like cactus next door into the chunky image of a penguin, leaving him speechless all night.
The next day, the sound of sirens ringing in time for the alarm clock successfully woke Connors, who was asleep.
"Sir, this happens one after another. I suggest you throw this pot of cactus in the trash…" In the hallway outside the door, Gotham's officers were speaking to his next-door neighbors, while Connors dressed and washed before jumping out of the window. The human's extreme reflexes made his little tricks more natural. He fell lightly on the ground and reached out to stop a taxi.
After the supercar was hung in the air by a spider, Gotham's officers had sent the luxury car from the Wayne Group back, but Connors had since become a man relying on his legs again. He was going to Gotham Woods today to consult with "Poison Ivy" on something. The actions of these villains in Gotham City were all linked to the "Man of Laughter" incident and were all fellows previously locked up in Arkham Asylum. The only two that hadn't been dealt with yet were Killer Croc and Poison Ivy. But Killer Croc was a guy active in the sewers in the comics, and Connors was unwilling to drill into that kind of place. So, the only person he could find at present was Poison Ivy.
The existence of "Green of All Things" made Connors clearly know that "Poison Ivy" would not harm him, so he did not take any precautions in advance and even thought about whether to carry two boxes of meeting gifts.
But plans never catch up with change. The news above caught his eye as he passed the big screen on Gotham's streets: "Yesterday, the Gotham Police Department received an alarm and found that four shareholders of 'Iceberg Lounge' were hung in the air by chains and were dying when they were rescued…"
Needless to say, this was a good job Connors had done. What caught his attention was a line of small print scrolling beneath the screen of the news that was playing: "Joseph's jewelry store was burglarized for the fifth time this month. Judging from the surveillance footage, it was a blindfolded woman with an unusually strong figure…"
Burglars, blindfolded, good hands! Three keywords that reminded Connors of one person: Catwoman!
