Cast Removal (SFW)

“Your xrays look clean, and your bones look solid. So Ms. Evie, I think it’s about time for you to regain your legs and get those casts off!” The buzz of the cast saw rang through the air. Flecks of the cast were ground into the air by the oscillating saw’s teeth, a fine buildup of cast powder forming on the underside of the pink cast. The vibrations were a bit too much for what Evie had expected, and so after the first cast was taken off, she asked for a bit of a cooldown before the second one was fully removed. Also, she wanted to pop the ultimate question of if she could keep the casts as a memento to the technician. “We can let you keep the cast shells, but the inside padding was something awful and needed to be disposed of. If your other cast is as dirty as the pink one, then I don’t think you’d want to take that stench home with you. I’ve got to get a new pair of scissors and cast spreader anyways, so a ten minute break is totally fine. I get that the vibrations can be a bit overstimulating to some, so its no biggie.” While agreeing that her casts had gotten quite ripe to the nose now that all of the inside sweat, dead skin, and other “accumulations” over their lifetimes, Evie was still a bit miffed to have her casts sawn into for their removal, especially now that the pink cast was now fully off her leg. Her foot felt exposed, her leg bare… the hard, protective fiberglass shell of her cast was now stripped away, akin to a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Except that this butterfly wasn’t flying away anytime soon, as its sister was soon to emerge from its own fiberglass cocoon. The skin was cracked and dry from being trapped in the cast, and while the order of moisturizing lotion is waiting back at her home, the unsightly look of her skin only added to the mood. “Maybe I can add in my own padding to them…” Evie thought to herself, checking on her recent stream’s metrics, seeing that the number of viewers had taken a significant dive from their usual counts since she had announced the official date of her casts being removed. While this drop was expected (cast fetishists, she learned, can be bit fickle…), seeing the official data was still disheartening to its own merit. Still, her streams will continue and her average income was still leagues better than what it had been prior to her accident. People stayed on longer than usual, even after she had her casts hidden away from sight, so Evie did have a solid backing beyond the viewers that were there to ride out her leg cast adventure. Lost in her thoughts, Evie didn’t notice the Orthotech knock on the door, asking if she was ready. She responded that she was, but just as that left her mouth, an email notification popped up on her front screen.
