This was the studio's first big hit since Snow White. Snow White that was it, both Pinnchio and Fantasia lost money and if this film had failed the studio would have gone with it, but thankfully it was a smash hit with people loving ths return to fairy tale form. Also not only was the film nominated for several Oscars including Best Song for Bibbity Bobbity Boo which it didn't win. Cinderella's Dress Transformation was said to be Walt’s favorite scene the studio did. The reason the glass slippers stuck around when everything else didn't was because they were to be a memento of the night from the Fairy Godmother. One other thing I like is Cinderella is a strong female character she works hard every day and is nice and kind, but also has her limits and she doesn't go to the ball to meet the prince and doesn't even know it waa him zhe danced with until the next morning when she dropped the tray. Plus she isn't a damsel is distress waiting to be rescued and works to be free with the help of her animal friends.
