That's why Hans Zimmer won an Academy Award for best music score in the 90's.

I still remember when I first watched this in theaters with my family back in the 90's as a kid! I always loved that HAKUNA MATATA song too! lol You two should see THE LION KING 2: SIMBA'S PRIDE (1998) next!

Alvin Davis

I agree. I would just love for him to eventually put The Lion Guard on in rotation on his list in the near future at some point. I could see him really enjoying it, plus all the new characters he'll get to meet in the Pride Lands. It's just definitely a show I think is very underrated and doesn't get nearly as much appreciation that it deserves.

if they reacted to the lion guard that would be dope, especially since it technically is cannon and goes with the lion king story

You know, I know it's a long shot, and I know it's not really a show that's on everybody's radar when it comes to The Lion King, but I think a series you should eventually check out man is The Lion Guard from 2016 - 2019, it lasted 3 seasons, and it really expands on the Lion King universe and lore as a whole, and it has some amazing musical numbers throughout the show. Like don't get me wrong, the music here in the original lion king will always be top tier, but for a show you would think is aimed at kids, the songs in the Lion Guard go pretty hard too. Definitely a show I would love for you to react to eventually. But with that said, I'm a huge Lion King fan. And this was like my favorite movie as a kid, definitely one of the first movies I ever got emotionally attached to when I was a kid.

Saw it in theaters during it’s original release when I was 12 and took my daughter to see the Broadway Musical when she turned 14 πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ₯°

You know I love that you guys commented on the music. Part of what helps it be so powerful, especially during emotional scenes, is that the composer Hans Zimmer also lost his father before having worked on this movie, and initially he was gonna turn it down cuz he associated Disney with fairytales and princesses. But when he read the script, he felt the emotion so much because in his own life, he was Simba, he lost his dad, so the score he wrote for the movie was in tribute to his own dad. Knowing that fact about him honestly makes the music more emotional than it already was. No wonder this movie landed him an Oscar.

Believe it or not, the hula scene was added afterwards. That 'dress in drag and do the hula' line was adlibed by nathan allen. Completely unscripted.
