Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother, Ferb Fletcher, are determined to make every day of their summer vacation fun. They try building a full-scale roller coaster, becoming musicians, building a backyard beach, and traveling back in time to meet dinosaurs. Their family pet, Perry the Platypus, doubles as a secret agent and battles evil. Meanwhile, older sister Candace is tattling on them to Mom and Dad, though she can never seem to catch them in the act.

A lot of the expanded movie references in S4 are probably due to the fact, around this time, Phineas and Ferb got Joshua Pruett on the writing team who is a HUGE cinephile and horror fan, so he sneaks in as many references as he can. Pruett would later become a key player in some of the season's strongest episode and become a major writer for Milo Murphy's Law!

Slight movie reference - One of the boomerangs was named Sharpay - that's the name of Ashley Tisdale's character in the High School Musical movies. Parts of Baljeet's music video reminds me of the band DEVO - he is wearing a hat like they do in the music video for their song "Whip it".
