All right! Lemme give you the lowdown on all these new pieces:
Cynthia's Beanie Bats: I thought I'd take the "Cynthia in the bath" suggestion in an unusual direction, and remembered some photos my cosplaying friend Ballistic Bambi posed for a few years ago in a bathtub full of beanie babies. With her permission, I actually based this piece pretty directly on one of the photos... just turning all the beanie babies into beanie bats. Anyhow, thank you Bambi! You can see more of her stuff on her instagram. (Not the specific photo I referenced though, sorry! lol)
Shantae: I don't do a lot of nsfw fanart, but as we've established, I'm a sucker for the Shantae series, so I couldn't say no to this suggestion. In addition to the nudie version, I wound up making two alts... one with her regular outfit and one with transparent fabrics.
Teri: As I mentioned in this month's S&F Extra, Teri is a character from my longtime pal Alex Steacy's comic Spaceshipping. I got Alex's permission to share an NSFW version of the piece with y'all, so here it is! Alex's main art account can be found here, and you'll find links to his own nsfw stuff there too. (Just be warned that his art can get a lot spicier than my own nsfw stuff, haha.)
Noosehead's 12th and 13th members (the two sheets of looseleaf paper) release a sex tape: For those who don't know, the band Noosehead in my comic is contractually required to have 13 members, and they meet this requirement partly by counting two sheets of paper as official members. I felt like the person who suggested this idea was trying to stump me with an impossible request, but I feel like I came up with a great solution. (lol)
Gert and Sam: By request, this piece is a follow-up to the "Gert pegs Sam" scene I drew as a request last year. (Which you'll find in the Backer Requests folder as Spicy Requests 2-2.) I don't think this particular... um, act is one I can portray seriously in my art style without it looking totally ridiculous. But I thought I could turn it into a good running gag about Sam's inability to articulate what he actually wants, so I went with a comedic take.
Once again, all these pieces were drawn in Procreate with "pencil style" line art, although this time I decided to use more traditional solid colour flats for some of the character art, and just use the more "painterly" style colouring for the shading and backgrounds.
Whew! That was a lot of text. I hope you enjoyed these pieces. It was not what I originally planned to be doing this month, but I'm quite happy with them! And now that I am mostly healthy again, I have returned to making new pages of Personal Training. So you can look forward to those next time. Woo!
