A good background is part of the storytelling. For example, Lulla (or any other girl) standing naked in her room tells a different story than Lulla standing naked on the beach (even if it's just us having the ability to see through her clothes ^^ ) It doesn't need to be overly complex, yes, but it set the context of the picture, which is always nice.

I think both are important to me. Sometimes I want a transparent illustration, but other times I feel that a background can create an atmosphere that makes the character more complete. So if you could fulfill both preferences, I hope that one day you’ll consider sharing your PSD/CLIP files. Even if that requires a higher-tier sponsorship plan, I believe it would be worth it for some people.

I like with background, but it doesn't really need to be super-detailed, unless it sets the scene.
