This was a lot of fun! You should also check out the musical version that Netflix put out a couple of years ago based on the West End Musical! Also, this film has so many great stories behind it from being a product of Roald Dahl's great working relationship with his editor who helped shape the book to Danny Devito and Rhea Pearlman taking care of Mara Wilson during the filming as her mother battled cancer. Devito apparently personally took a copy of it to the hospital so that Mara's mother could watch it before her passing as the film was so special to both of them. Great to see you loved this, would love to see more Roald Dahl films on the channel in the future!

This movie was such an iconic part of my childhood. Even now when we get a package delivered our family just says 'the speedboat salesmen are back'. There's a musical (written by Tim Minchin) which is incredible and has run in London for well over a decade, and a movie of the musical which isn't quite as good as the show (partially as it has to stand up against this movie version), but still very fun.

Also Danny devito was really sweet with the little girl outside of the film as he mum was suffering from cancer and he supported and looked after her throughout it all.
