Matthew Holness still inhabits the Garth Marenghi character. He's published at least two full length novels in character and does public readings as him too. You wouldn't think this kind of satire would translate over to the written page from a visual medium, but man, he nails it. Also, Julian Barrett was the priest at the funeral and will pop up a couple more times as that character. He is probably best known as Noel Fielding's co-star/counterpart on The Mighty Boosh. This, Boosh, and Linehan's sitcoms at the time (especially IT Crowd, obviously) have a lot of actor overlap.

I once went to a cinema where they showed the whole show in one night and it’s one of my favourite cinema experiences ever. Such an incredible show. Really enjoyed the Roger explosion sketch too.
