I'm assuming it is called "Steps" and not "Ladders" to avoid IP issues? It has been called Snakes and Ladders in the UK for over a century.

For the team of two, since they had to alternate who goes into the lab, Masie *always* talks to Louise and Reece *always* talks to Lindsey -- so they have to know both names. But with a the team of 3, each team member goes back and forth between talking to *both* Louise and Lindsey, so they can complete the task with only one of the names.

But equally, it would have been unfair on the team of 3, because if they'd stuck to their Ania/Phil/Sanjeev/Ania/Phil/Sanjeev method, they would have got Louise/Lyndsey/Louise/Lyndsey/Louise/Lyndsey i.e. they'd have a different twin each time they went in, so there would have been no consistency to their questioning, if that makes sense?

I thought it was *a bit* unfair that the team of 2 had to get both their names and the team of 3 didn't 😂 if they had won I'd be FUMING

For the 'twins' task - to win, you just had to identify whoever was sitting at the table in the lab when you went to ask a question. So if Maisie went in and identified Louise, Reece just had to identify whoever it was that was sitting in there when he went in, whether it was Louise or Lyndsey.
