My favorite episode of the series. I'm a cruciverbalist and a teacher, so this ticks a lot of boxes for me. Jazzed you got to it so soon, but I hope you're still planning on doing a full watch-through of the series. If you are just going to skip around, then let me throw my voice behind the series 4 episode Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room. Also, I think Zanzibar opens that series as well, which also rocks.

Reece's last line is "Your middle name is Hector, isn't it?" RIP N.H.S. RIP Nigel Hector Squires. An extra hidden clue, even the setter didn't know what there. Yeah, this is definitely not one of the comedic ones! Dark gothic horror that Steve and especially Reece love.

I mean, I did say it was a second Pemberton puzzle! Sphinx is his crossword setting name, it's how the TM fandom knew that it was his crossword that he submitted as a prize task! The crossword in this episode was published in the Guardian. Not that Greg reads that lefty rubbish.
