Hmm, yeah, I think that was the inspiration, but by the end I'm not sure which was which. I don't really know how civil wars start or what they end up looking up, and looking up a YT video feels like too much research for what's basically background stuff to build the plot out of. Chapter 2 will show how the Elves Shield don't end up much better, so in the end, the story is about the MC just trying to get away from it all to live his dream.

I get the sneaking suspicion you are somewhat basing this cluster fuck on modern American politics./s *sends hugs*

I wouldn't say humans are the weakest, that would technically be dwarves from what we see. They're only the "weakest" because of how many humans there are in comparison to other races and how they lower the average of the "strong" members of their species since the weak and lazy far outnumber the more exceptional. Humans tend to be far more exceptional than other races from what we see, to the point humans could kill 1000+ year old mages or warriors, as noted by Frieren and Serie. Like how an 18 year old Fern is apparently capable of killing Frieren, even if its an uphill battle (but STILL at the age of 18!? Its bullshit! Humans are bullshit by default no matter the setting), and was the human that was the closest to reaching even Serie's level, if given more time, that she ever found in her entire life, who is, at minimum, 2000 years old, to 5000+ years old as a highball. Humans are only the "weakest" in terms of the "natural abilities" they're born with, which can clearly be trained up if we look at Stark or Himmel. With Eisen noting Stark was stronger than him if a lot less experienced. So i don't really get the "humans are the weakest" crap when its clearly not true when they can put their minds to it. I mean sure, potential and talent help clear the gap a lot quicker in that, but if they had the will and drive then *anyone* could become exceptional if they had the tools as seen with Stark. It just really frickin' frustrates me to no end when people pick such settings but decide to make the MC be (or stay) human. Also, I wasn't talking about Frieren SI MCs for that, I was talking about every story in general. Most stories I've seen for Frieren have actually been Demon MCs, oddly enough. And in the case of Frieren SIs, *only* Demons. At least from the sample pool I've seen in Spacebattle and QQ. So a human MC actually *is* a novelty for a Frieren fic for once now that I think about it. Maybe even the first. Sorry for the rant. But I really *do* think a Dwarf SI would've been more interesting and the better choice here, especially for a Mage build considering how rare it is. No offense. I'll still probably read the story. I am curious if Trenn is near Fern's level of talent or surpasses it after all.

Oh thank the Goddess. Because I'm like, "Dammit, Murphy, I KNOW saying, 'No one could possibly be this stupid,' is a fucking invitation for you, but there are LIMITS on how much you can push it and still be realistic!"

The only thing canon is that there were wars in the Southern Lands, and Fern is from there, and Heiter found and saved her there. Which means Heiter went there for a reason, so I extrapolated from that.

Lol. Absolutely possible for it to happen. I wonder how Frieren would feel about it if she finds out. And for the Anti-Elf racists to strike as soon as Himmel died is an absolute insult to him and his friends.

Haven't really read many Frieren SI fics to know or see if a lot of them choose human. And I chose human because they are technically the "weakest" race.

Silver W. King

Nope. Made it all the fuck up.

Another human fic? Rip. Literally a demon, elf or dwarf would've been more interesting. Jilwer and Reelseiden as your 2 spells of choice, however, do sound interesting though. I just don't understand why, when choosing a fantasy/sci-fi setting, people always choose to be human. That's not really fun since almost every story and fanfic are human MCs to begin with. Like what's the point of that? What's the point of being human in such interesting settings with different races? I am glad it is a Frieren fic tho. My second Frieren fanfic. I just got into the series, so hopefully it'll be good.

I've been meaning to watch Frieren for some time now – this "coalition", are these dumbasses actually canon?
