Whats Next for SFO III

With the release of Land of Wealth I would like to take an opportunity to talk about some important topics regarding SFO modding and the near future.
Total War: Warhammer III modding is a big step for the team. Because of that we were preparing for a different approach. We tried to make sure more team members were working on the mod itself and not just me alone, like before where 90% of the modding was made by me. Sadly, when WH III released that approach didn’t work at all. SFO is a very complex mod, and it's of utmost importance that as many of its parts are made with the best expertise possible. As our initial plan didn’t work out we went back to old ways, where I modded over 90% of the whole mod with rest providing assistance. Don't get me wrong, other team members themselves are also putting a lot of work in too, but tackling the thousands of tables is my burden alone.
Because of this, since the WH III release I was modding 8 to 12 hours a day 6 days a week to at least deliver you the major SFO features involving both campaign and battles as soon as possible. That was almost 4 months of crunch time and let's face it, in that time I put a hold on my own game project and the work of several people. But more importantly, I neglected my family a lot of the time when they needed my help. Over 8 months ago we were blessed with our second son Niko. Sadly he wasn’t born fully healthy and required some extra care. So you can imagine last month was hard. I slept a maximum of 4-6 hours a day, spent my time working as much as possible and spent the rest of the spare time left taking care of my family.
Another problem comes from the game itself. As much I want to love WH III I really can't. More I mod, the more I see how underdeveloped this game really is. I will give you a simple example here. Khorne garrisons require around 100 records to do maximum when the Empire requires over 2000 records or even more. It's because none of the old factions were updated to the new table schematics and still use old systems. And there are many more examples like that. Imagine how much more unnecessary work it would require to get all old factions on par with the new ones. My only hope here is that Immortal Empires will update those countless tables… And we finally get a game that will far surpass Total War: Warhammer II in quality. I sincerely hope for that..
So what is next you may ask. Right now I am just taking a break. I want to spend more time with my family and get back to my game project. But don't worry about SFO modding, we will try to give the initial idea another shot with more team members making things in the mod just with my guidance. I don't know if that will work this time around but it's better than nothing. And when Immortal Empires releases we will get back at it with full strength, to try and deliver yet again the best possible experience to you all.
