This is a small pack of 5 different optimized piercings to slap wherever you please on your avatars. This is just the meshes and a quick metallic material currently using the Poiyomi shader. With one of each they're only 972 tris!
Included:
- Blender file with all piercings
- Seperate fbx's for each piercing
- Unity package with material and fbx files
They currently don't really use a texture, just a solid color and some metallics.
NOTE: These are NOT set up to use any specific avatar or armature. they are static object that you have to edit onto your avatar yourself. It is recommended to have a bit of 3d modeling knowledge to use these.
How to use:
For best results....
- Import the piercing fbx(s) into your 3d program of choice with your avatar
- move/scale them into place
- parent them to your armature
- fix any weird weight painting
- add your piercings to a new vertex group (it makes them easier to select later)
- done. export your new avatar fbx to unity!
It's also possible to import the piercings into your character's unity project and parent them to whatever bone they're closest to (like the head or ear bones). This can have some undesirable effects when it comes to dynamic bones however which is why I recommend using blender.
A warning...
If you want piercings on the face/eyebrows of your avatar (snake bites, lip rings, tongue piercings, etc), you MUST adjust your piercings for whatever blendshapes also affect those areas. The easiest way I've found is to join them to your face's mesh and use the arrow keys to flip through each shape key, adjusting the position of the piercing accordingly.
