IMPORTANT - Upcoming Patreon Billing Changes
🕑 Added 2024-08-12 17:14:57 +0000 UTCJust FYI to everyone, Apple IOS store is forcing Patreon to pay 30% of revenue to them if you subscribe through the ios app. So, what does this mean if you are one of the users who do this?
This change is happening rather soon and will affect your price automatically across everyone you subscribe to on Patreon (it's not just a me thing). To my understanding, there will be a 30% price increase for those using the iOS app. So Patreon is adding that to the users who use the app as their primary subscription source. You'll see a difference in price between iOS and other ways of access patreon like Android or via a web browser. This is not money I see or anything, this goes directly to Apple.
Here is a break down on what iOS app users will see in the coming months once this change is made.
Normal Price / Adjusted Price
1 / 1.3
3 / 3.9
6 / 7.8
10 / 13
35 / 45.5
If you don't want to get hit by a sudden price increase, my suggestion would be to delete the app from your phone and instead just use the web browser version either on your iphone or your laptop/pc.
If you don't care about the pricing change at all, carry on then XD.
If you have any questions or concerns, I can try to answer them with the limited knowledge I have, just drop them in the comments down below.
