Anime eClaire!
🕑 Added 2024-10-18 05:01:20 +0000 UTCThought I'd try to make an anime version of eclaire, both in black and white and color! which is your favorite?
I also added in all of the render layers so you guys can see what I was trying. The depth map there was to try to add a lens blur, but I didn't like it as much to be honest, I think the crips lines were best.

Makes sense. And I'm sure it's one of those things that will improve with practice.

One of the issues I am having with the eyes atm is the new anime styled eyes don’t track perfectly when I tell them to point at an object. They actually end up looking really hard to the right if I tell them to look at , say, the camera for instance. So I had to put the on a null and fly it around until it was pointed in a relatively decent direction

Horror wasn’t exactly what I was going for but I concede it does look a little more that direction XD, doesn’t help that I did purposefully give eclaire a slightly manic smile like she gets.

No apologies needed! Silent hill is a great game :). That one is actually the depth map to try to make the background burry. I ultimately don’t use it for this one, but it’s still neat to see. But yes I do think I’ll be making comics in this style in the future, it’s a much faster workflow

I think this looks pretty good for the most part, and the 5th pic reminds me of games like No More Heroes or Killer Seven, but there's something about Claire's eyes that don't look right. It feels like the eyes aren't even, with one or the other drifting.

The black and white version gives me some real horror manga vibes.

The 4th image looks like silent hill. Sorry I've been binging the remake and it's been on my mind. Love the style though. Would love to see a whole comic look like this.
