Back panel deformation in clay block was 1.25 inches in police panel and 1.50 inches in "no name" panel which is 120% . It would seem that the per mm protection is comparable.

Video stated that mystery Kevlar panel was 6.5mm thick and "police issue" panel was 8.0mm which is 123% of thickness.

I've got to wonder how much difference in back-face deformation is informed by the inertia of the plate. If it's easy, I'd be curious to see another test where ballast is attached to one of the small plates.
