.22 Snake Shot - but would it save you from a snake?
🕑 Added 2020-05-08 08:28:49 +0000 UTCDanny and I wanted to do something a little different and test out some old .22 shotshells. I have heard people say they would use these for self defense, and even some people who think they are so weak they could handle a shot to the face with them. We wanted to show how much damage these actually DO.
thanks everyone!

I remember those! When I was about 12 years old I lived in Santa Fe NM, and an old man who was a neighbor of ours was getting rid of a bunch of stuff and gave us a few assorted boxes of those and a bunch of loose rounds, too. There were even some .38 caliber ones. The crimped brass ones were (I think) made by Federal Ammunition, and there was a box of CCI (in the plastic box with the lid that slid back and all the rounds were in a neat little rack). The CCI weren't crimped brass, though. They were in a blue plastic capsule. The .38's were CCI, too, also with a blue plastic capsule. The shot in the .22's was #12 birdshot, and the .38's had #8 birdshot.
Hmmm... wonder how they’d do out of a 10/22. Might be fun!
Amen on not shooting me in the face! I’ve used these on both mice and rats and they do indeed work very very well on the little critters

Danny said “don’t tell Mare”! Ha! Don’t tell Matt at DemolitionRanch either!

Back in the late 70's, I had to carry an H&R Breaktop Revolver loaded with that same Snake Shot to walk around the "day camp" area before the kids arrived to make sure there were no Rattlesnakes. I should mention that was up in Malibu, CA! LOL

I feel like the spring tension on the clay pigeon probably did more damage than the bird shot.

This was a really fun video! Gotta say, though, that the OG is gonna be pissed at what you did to his Taylor Swift remix cd....

The Tatermouse was great.

These would be great for home defense if you could get the perp to stand still with his eyes wide open. You mentioned airguns. If you've never seen Ted's Holdover, it's a great channel.
