I'd always assumed the light got tired and went home. Or slightly more likely red-shifted out of visible range, sort of the same thing. Thanks for clearing this up.

Hey, I just noticed in the English captions, the phrase "definitely hot enough to start glowing" is captioned as the opposite, ie. "definitely hot enough to STOP glowing". Now that I think about it, "start" in an Australian accent does sound dangerously similar to "stop" in an American accent ;)
