Is unfilmed better? Yes and it certainly better in low light, but you'll pay for it.

No, Elbit tends to have quite a bit more distortion than L3H in their thin filmed units, it often manifests itself around the edges but can be in other areas. I tend to see a resolution gain with Unfilmed units vs. thin filmed units. And yes I def see the low light advantage of Unfilmed over thin filmed.

I have both. TNVC PVS 14 w/ Unfillmed WP & Elbit 31D w/ thin filmed WP. Specs on the filmed/unfilmed are very similar, although the L3 unfilmed have a slight edge in really low light. The thin filmed seem to have a weird distortion when looking at really bright light sources(Would love to know what that is?). The aluminum oxide coating?
