My first thoughts was she looks real goofy in that gif, partly due to the look on her face. And her skin did not bend right. ^.^

Yes this was more of a joke post as it's pretty apparent that there is quite a bit of weight painting to go. Yep you're correct about using .ma files, I learnt that lesson the hard way many years ago. This is version 10, my rigs usually end up being version 30 or so by the end. I think Cookie is at about 40 0_o

As a person with some experience in modeling/rigging/animation, (albeit not as much experience as I'd like), I can say that the visible parts of that rig look pretty good so far. I can definitely see some unwanted problems with skin weighting for the area around the upper torso at the end of that twist, though. I also really hope you're using .ma files, not .mb -- Maya ASCII files are actually encoded using text, so you can edit them by hand if needed (e.g. using Notepad or Notepad++), so there's less chance of losing your work to a corrupted file. Maya Binary, alternatively, isn't editable by hand using Notepad. (IDK if it can even be opened by anything besides Maya, but I haven't looked into it recently.) (Don't forget to save incremental backup copies of the work, and ideally have an automated backup system established for your work, set for multiple external drives. I've seen a lot of creators lose work to stuff like corrupted drives, which really sucks :(. )
