Another fishing world Update
🕑 Added 2024-02-16 15:11:32 +0000 UTCI'm really happy about the direction it's going now! Check out the screenshots. I made an NPC, added some menus, a bucket, made the world prettier, added a chill area and a lot of sound design improvements. (most definitely some other stuff I'm missing)
I'll make another supporter build on discord soon so you can try it out yourself to see how far it got. Watch out for the announcement next week!

Ranting about personal stuff:
But there is one thing: I have to apologize. I think I wrote previously that it in January. My goal was to make something playable and fun by then. Sadly I couldn't meet that goal and I have to say sorry for that.
Running a patreon has been quiet the interesting learning experience. It's been both a source of motivation but also a lot of pressure. I feel like it has been affecting me in negative ways. The problem though is that the pressure is in my head, since I haven't heard a single one of you tell me to go faster. I don't think 80% of you are even aware of the exact development of the fishing world. And even less of these posts.
That's why I'm going to do a more conscious effort in turning down the pressure a little and just mess around with the world. Honestly, by doing that in the last two weeks, I've had a lot more progress that I'm actually satisfied with.
Also, I'll stop doing deadlines for now. I'm realizing they don't make sense when you do something more creative and freeform like I have been doing. Instead, I'll keep trying the things that I think would be fun, maybe share the world with more people and get their feedback. I strongly feel like that it's going to make the world much better overal rather than forcing it. Deadlines have their place when you do serious business, but I feel like they are not as great for patreon. I might be wrong, but that's what I'm going with for now.
So basically, argh I'm sorry. I'm trying my best but it will come when it's ready.

Yeah, stuff changed a lot since then. I had trouble implementing the NPC properly (not coding wise, but design wise) so I removed it. I'll keep working on the world and once I have better systems I might bring it back, but no promises. Or are you talking about something else?
