Update 3/20/23 - Let go from my job, surviving.
🕑 Added 2023-05-20 07:03:45 +0000 UTCSad news my Familiars, I unfortunately was let go from my job a couple of days ago. at my, now old, job we had discount cards but we were not allowed to use them for other people. Now people do it all the time but we are not supposed to be seen accepting money from friends or family while inside the store. I was shopping with grandma and someone must have seen me as she casually handed me money. It was reported and HR was informed. My manager and myself did our best to tell our side of the story however, HR decided to terminate my employment. I had been at that part-time job for 5 years and I was let go over something negligible, but it is what it is. I am currently in the process of looking for another job to support myself. As it stands, art commissions, Patreon and Twitch streaming are my only forms of income at the moment. So for those who continue to support me and have supported me, I thank you for your generosity. I'm gonna do my best to produce more content while I look for a new job.
I'm sorry to say yet again, things might be delayed as I am going to extend my Twitch channel's subathon for obvious reasons. And I will need to catch up on my commission backlog so I can start taking them up again. There is also a storm coming in and me and my family need to prepare just in case it hits us. So the lack of power might be an issue, but we will see.
And obviously it has been emotionally exhausting the past few days. I've already cried several times, I've poured my heart out, and I let myself grieve and reflect on what happened.
What's done is done, it is what it is. I will not let this detour me, I will be strong and keep moving forward. I'll try to stay positive too.
Things do feel uncertain, but the past couple of weeks have shown me that I'm not alone. I have a wonderful community backing me up and the amount of love and support you all have shown me...I think I'll be ok.
But again, I'll keep trying my best to deliver and if you all could continue to support me, it would be most appreciated.
