John Hardy

Hmmm. If Waste Tank Guy's name is FitzClarence ... wasn't George, Duke of Clarence, the brother of King Edward IV who was executed by being drowned in a butt of malmsey? Butts of malmsey being in short supply on space stations, did someone "settle" for a sewage tank instead?

Susannah

I also want to snark that the menus were possibly designed by the same people who did the menus in Fire Emblem: Engage. Because that game has very frustraiting and poorly designed drop down menus, but not many people will get the reference.

Susannah

I'm already emotionally attached to ST3V3. Cute little robots on ships always make me think of the DRDs on Moya from Farscape. (The named ones were 1812, Pike and One-Eye. And that makes me happy. Though I'm sure that ST3V3 will be more important to the plot, no matter useful 1821 was. (Whether ST3V3 belongs to the man in the waste tank or something else, it's just a feeling).

jmundt33a

Steve reminds me of the cleaner droids on Moya

Crochet4Joy

And how does she have the time to be tooling about for at least the time it took to get from the planet to the space station? Does she not have any other (paying) job??

Lexy Gabb

Loving this series. I was not expecting St3V3 but I am here for it!

Lexy Gabb

Working title, "Something Waste Tank This Way Rubbas". As play on, "something wicked this way comes".

Fenrir Wolfganger

I, for one, welcome our new Roomba overlords.

Leonard Richard Stanway

Thank you for remembering ST3V.3!

Lizzie G

PLEASE tell me you're going to write a book about this series too! Just Stab Me Now was so much fun to read and I recommend it constantly

shift shift

I say we join St3v3 and his rebel alliance.

Nikki Hyson

Loving it!!!

Robert Calhoun

i am rather immediately hooked on this

Abigail Poirier

10/10. Absolutely perfect. No notes.

April Spivey

I'm in! What happens next? Let's go, let's go, let's go! 😀🚀

Melita_H

I love St3v3 already~ 😌✨️

Crochet4Joy

Nah, this is the style from her previous series, where the author narrates what the characters are reacting to. It works beautifully in my opinion.

Aguido Horatio Davis

"Why doesn't it ever go SMOOTH?"

Aguido Horatio Davis

...you must DM a mean game of D&D. And also, there is Chekhov's bot, right on schedule.

Scaria95

I would love some commentary from Rosamund. I wonder what she is like in spectator mode.

SendPenguins

WARNING, CAPTAIN BREN: While the patient may appear to be breathing, that does not mean that there is a breathable atmosphere in all areas of the formerly sealed void/tank. Please remember to bring your emergency breathing apparatus. (Nope. I was never "killed" in training for that particular mistake. Not at all.)

shadowscribble

So glad I can watch these things without YouTube garbage covering it

StephanieGail

When the self-insert is the ship's computer :D much to be mined there!

StephanieGail

The thick [sewage] plottens!

A

okayyy I want to love ST3V3 but he is Ominous - OH WELL, OKAY THEN, WE HAVE BIGGER PROBLEMS

fiun dagner

Steve is the mysterious person in the waist tank, or at least their consciousness. He was working way too hard to get friends attention to not be at least semi-sentient

fiun dagner

Five credits it says the body has no mind at all because the consciousness has been transferred into Steve

Knutt

The plot thickens… And Henry the editor must surely be wondering how the mysterious man hasn’t been killed by the deadly fumes yet.

Donna Flood

5 bucks....er........credits, that when Bren gets the body out of the waste tank....................the guy will have no memory as to what happened, who he is, how he got in there, etc., etc,, etc...................

Daniele

Oh oh! This getting intensive super fast ! But we have to get the hot Love interest outuof the waste.... and than Bren takes care of him, and he falls in Love with her because she saved his life.... ah so romantic. But I guess Caroline grew as a writer. And she is actually writing characters instead of tropes now? I am on board that Steve belongs to mysterious guy. And is not the mind of the mysterious guy. That's a little to Sci-Fi for me🤣

Ekij

But is the body hot? Well not while its covered in sewage it's not! "How I met your mother? Well actually it's our little secret, we ... we don't talk about how we met." [Edit] Oh. Ship belongs to Septic-Man, it was stollen and Bren has just spent all her savings on stolen goods. Unless she just purges Septic-Man to space, keeps the ship and does without a clean conscience for the rest of her life. Clean conscience or clean overalls? Life is full of difficult choices. I see a callback to "some stains just don't wash out."

Raphaela

I'm loving this far too much already. 😁 And Bren's last name SHOULD be Fitzclarence! It has the perfect ring to it.

chromicacid

Adventures in a much too affordable spaceship

DBertrand

Oh, is Steve perhaps owned by the mysterious person in the waste tank? And maybe Steve was standing guard/trying to get help for his person? Now did they sneak on board or were they dumped there. Looking forward to seeing the next episode! 😁

Haldon Lindstrom

I think chat called this one - and such a delightful reveal! Wonder what's up with the comms... I don't know, though - I'm holding out for a romantic plot with STE v.3

Jill Bearup

Rosamund was bad enough. I can’t find her yellow dress so I had to wear the green, and even on a bluescreen it’s…tricksy 😂

Anders

You need a space cat as well. I'm sure one of the kittens will do well on camera. I have an online friend who's cat bullies the Roomba by sitting in front of it and glaring at it. And the Roomba always backs down.

Gene Simonalle

Or, Steve the guy in the waste tank/roomba is not really dressed after being dumped in the disposal slot, so it is..."Just Space Me Now, Ep 3: Medical Undressed Detected"

Jill Bearup

Started on a planet, now at a space service station. Or maybe a space supermarket, hence the free parking for three hours 😁

fiun dagner

1812 vouches for Steve. Won't you take 1812 word for steve? Would 1812 lie to you?!

UnderSampled

Since the author isn't really so much talking conversationally with the heroine, this feels familiar as a sort of D&D style DM/player interaction. (Makes me want to adapt some of ny group's stories, even!) Have you ever thought about separating the author from the narrator? It might even be an interesting episode to debate what the narrator's voice should be, talk to the narrator character at their inception, etc.

Maaruin

Henry the Editor is marking the words "atmospheric maneuvers" and "turn down the gravity plates in this section", asking if the ship is meant to be on a planet or in space, or if it starts from a space port but then docks on a service station in orbit.

Christina Crothers

I'm having a fantastic time! I'm so delighted you're making these!! Thank you! I look forward to whatever comes next :)

fiun dagner

Does it qualify as a person if the body is running on autonomous functions and the Consciousness is downloaded into a cleaning robot named steve?

Jonathan Campbell

Steve is not to be trusted.

fiun dagner

I am making darn sure the lights stay on, I am not getting eaten by the giant Grue in the big black

Hongry

So is this a new 'novel' take on story telling? (Ha).

Paul Compton

Zero gravity toilets have a rotating blade assembly for the separation of solid and liquid waste. It's one of those rare situations in which, the shit hitting the fan, means everything is perfectly normal. Finding a body, deceased or otherwise, in your Black water tank, is not perfectly normal.

fiun dagner

I'm betting that Steve is Amber light guy, or at least amber light guys consciousness which has been forcibly removed from his body and placed in the robot. Which is why the robot is off the computer system because it's not actually a robot

Brenton Clark

Ye find yeself in yon cockpit. Ye see ye computer. Exits are: south, down, and Steve

T3chrs

Do I detect any Blake’s 7 influence? Confirmed 😀

fiun dagner

Body in the waste system. Called it Comms aren't down, the computer is blocking comms. The unregistered AI computer that fell in love with the body that is currently in the waste system. Love triangle between the computer, bren, and Steve. Steves body is in the waste system and whose Consciousness is in the robot. Does it count as a body when they sentience has been forcibly removed / mind ripped?

Cashagon Oak

I love where this is going. Finding a person on the ship she bought reminds of an audio drama I once listened to. I should find that again

Benjamin Mack

This is really great! Can't wait for the next installment!

Jill Bearup

This ship makes plot contrivances super easy, barely an inconvenience!

Donna Flood

I just can't stop chuckling. This ride is gonna be a hoot!!

Alaina Stone

My cleaming robot's name is Gort 😀 I'm loving a whole new genre's tropes to exploit

Jill Bearup

I have read so many surnames and first names in the last few days, I just...needed to get the existence of Fitzclarence out there :D

Renee - EnsembleofWolves

The saga continues... amazing. Can't wait to see why Amber Light Guy was in the sewage tank, and why Steve was left off the systems... I'm so invested in this already.

Fridrik Bjarnason

May I suggest computer gets a different outfit from author. Green t-shirt in front of a green curtain so you can green screen yourself as a disembodied head? (See Red Dwarf) Just throwing it out there

jmundt33a

Fitzclarence? Does the ship’s AI watch Bruckheimer films?

Samuel Smith

Ooh, perhaps the appearance of Smelly Enemy?

Eva Schiffer

*Squee!* I love where this is going! Also that title is perfect, lol!

Daniel Bessette

You know, a glitchy computer and cheap ship offers a lot of convenient plot devices! Like getting the name wrong and comms being down, lol.
