Iris had survived her last encounter with the virus cells in the most predictable way, she kept shrinking and was blown away by the impact of one of the virus' footsteps. The immeasurably weak impact was so powerful to her that she was sent hurtling for what felt like miles but in reality can't have covered more than a couple of micrometres, in fact she was probably still within the gravity of Dawn's finger.
Iris kept waiting for it to end, to impact on some microscopic surface in a splat that no one would ever see. But that moment never came. Once Iris had gathered her bearings, she looked around. everything was black, nothing could be made out. Well almost anything. She reached out to a strange object in front of her.
It was a molecule. Iris had finally shrunk small enough to see the fabric of the universe which made up everything. The smallest thing known to man. Even now the molecule grew bigger in her hand, or rather she continued to shrink.
Everything was silent. Her shrinking had caused all her recent problems and would normally drive her into a panic. But right now it was a relief, this was the first time her life wasn't in danger since she had started shrinking. The only thing visible around her were a few molecules. In fact the only reason she could see at all was because of the dim blue light coming from her due to her shrinking. Right now it was a blessing.
There was nothing around her, nothing trying to kill her, or rather everything was around her, but the distance between her and anything now was too much for her to worry about. Iris could finally think. She had a moment of grace before continuing to shrink out of our comprehension. But her fear wasn't replaced by calm, no it was replaced by anger.
She could've been a god, she had had more power than anyone could dream, and she gave it up for a world of strangers she had never known, and now she was supposed to live as nothing in their shadows? None of them would ever thank her, they'd probably hate her for her unintentional destruction. Had they even looked for her? After everything she had gone through, terror beyond their understanding, she should have a better ending, she deserved one.
Iris looked at the molecules in her hand.
'Soon this even this atom will become my whole world. But this time I won't make the same mistake. Like I said, it’s my world, no one else's. This molecule is nothing, I chose to fall to its level, this world is mine and I swear if I ever see anything living again, you'll feel my power before I can shrink to your laughable level.' Iris had a crazed look on her face, her experiences had altered her personality. She shook her head for a moment, as if trying to stop herself.
'No... That's wrong. To be a god of a molecule... Means nothing, I was so much more, I will be more. Everything is made of these insignificant atoms, but not me. I'll grow back, somehow, and then I'll make the world, nah, the universe bow to me. Even you.'
Iris kept trying to repeat the incantation that had grown her in the first place, while shrinking smaller and smaller. There was nothing small enough to kill her or notice her, it had to only be a matter of time before she got the incantation right and re entered the world.
So she kept repeating, and shrinking, repeating, shrinking, repeating, shrinking, repeating, shrinking, repeating

Here Iris reaches atomic levels while still shrinking. This image parallels Iris' first appearance in this series. But instead of infinite space around her and our whole planet in her hand, she's now surrounded by insignificant space and holding a tiny molecule in her hand.
There's a surprising lack of atomic/ subatomic shrunken women out there. This was a hard size to depict since any ideas of how this scale would look are pretty much theoretical.
