General Progress - August 22nd
🕑 Added 2017-08-22 20:38:01 +0000 UTC Replaced the straps with 3d models and started work on the lewd version. As with Widowmaker, Mercy's nude body was quite outdated, so I have some catching up to do, mainly on the hands and feet.Once work on the nude body is done, I'll finish up the straps. Those strings need to be more or less straight, not wobbly like this.

Yep, they're separate models. I start out with a full nude body, which I match to a character. I use the same model for every character, only the shape is different. Once that body matches the character, I cut away the pieces that are not going to be seen and add some details specific to that skin, like bulges on thighs and stuff like that. This customized model is what I maintain in the future. Eventually, as I pile on the tweaks, the nude body, it originated from, gets outdated.
You might be thinking of DVa ... I overhauled her recently for the cruiser skin. Mercy doesn't need that much work, fortunately.

Maybe this is obvious but is the full nude Widowmaker and Mercy completely seperate models from the semi nude ones used in recent/all animations? (This is what I always thought) As apposed to being just one model where you simply add the clothes or remove chest and crotch pieces with the click of a button. Just becuase im curious, since it can be a lot of different things, can you say a little more about the specific things that are outdated?
