My favorite doujin audios are the ones where male protagonists pay for being terrible people (a very common theme in Voice Temptation's stuff). The Taketo/Layla ship dynamic has that in spades - he's in prison for self-defense that got way too violent, and he keeps getting into fights and taking his anger issues out on people. Layla's route is less him choosing her and more his rejecting all other offers of help. She gets to the point where she's just ready to *ahem* pound the anger out of him with disciplined violence. That route was godly and deserves proper context, but I need to go through the Kyouka/Elza routes to make sure I get those right as well.
