Ryzen Hack: Over Clock Your RAM
🕑 Added 2017-04-07 15:47:04 +0000 UTC "When is an overclock not an overclock but also an overclock?" said the hatter, and here the conversation dropped, and the patrons sat quiet for a moment. We are increasing the clock speed of the ram, but also adding latency so the memory is "roughly" the same speed (not really, it is more complicated than that) at least in terms of latency.
This is your best shot at "overclocking" slower ram (e.g. DDR-2400) to "DDR-3200" in order to get a faster infinity fabric.
We saw a small performance benefit in some scenarios with this.
Here is the spreadsheet:
Note, real-world, you may have to fiddle with the timings a bit, and you may only have luck with 2933 vs 3200 depending on a huge number of factors about your kit of ram and your motherboard.
This is only a starting point for dialing in custom values, not "plug and play"
This video will probably drop Saturday or Sunday. Enjoy :D
