Ugh that orange stuff is the worst, i had it on my foot after my surgery for a while, i couldn;t wash my foot due to the incision. could not wait to get it off

I had my appendix taken out too, same situation. I had the same scars. They'll fade with time.

Consider yourself lucky. I had my appendix out as a sophomore in high school in the early 80s, before laparoscopic surgery. I was overweight at the time so I have a large scar. Those are small enough they will fade in a year or two.

Trust, friend, I hear you, and I have been there. You're through the worst of it. Like the fucking boss you are. Just remember to ask for help. You'll need it, and this is a time to learn how to rely on your besties/family. Rest up. Watch some isekai anime, play some BG3 or DD2. Get lost in an epic story. REST.

Fellow appendicitis survivor here, and let's be clear, you survived. That shit is no joke and the pain....I will never forget it. I'm so so so so happy to hear that you came out the other side. Wear those scars proudly. If it helps, the laparoscopic surgery comes with the added benefit of reduced/barely any scaring. It'll be super weird during recovery, but eventually, all returns to normal, and life continues. I am sending hugs so hardcore right now!

i think its normal. they use the antisep generously always. more is better then less. i had a broken collarbone and my right arm was nearly compltly orange.

Good Lord! Somebody in the ER went heavy-handed on the antiseptic so high up on your torso! When I first saw this, I thought: they do know where the appendix is... right? And while I pride myself on the male anatomy, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that high up in the abdomen!!! Cheering you on for a full recovery, sir!

Thankfully the recovery with laparoscopic is way smoother than if you had to do open incision. I had laparoscopic for my appendix too, so scar twinsies!
