I was in a youth theater group as a kid and the director somehow had the balls to take me and a girl who couldn't stand each other play as Kate and Petruchio in one of their first scenes from Taming of the Shrew. People walked away like "wow they managed to make those slaps seem to realistic, how did they manage it without actually hitting each other?" ... yeah.
