🕑 Added 2024-01-02 17:12:56 +0000 UTC2023 was a year of growth for me. After leaving a toxic relationship, I struggled to find myself and what I really wanted in life outside of that. I met new people, applied to a college I really wanted outside of my parents’ desires, and I got accepted! Taking chances has led me to things I regret, and things I will cherish for the rest of my life. The turning point in this year for me was in June, when I had the opportunity as a content creator to attend Olivia Rodrigo’s music video premiere for her song “vampire”. I barely have any subscribers on YouTube, but I wrote to them why I am worthy enough to be given the opportunity to attend. Lo and behold, I got the invitation. After fighting with my parents a lot (yes, at age 20 they’ll still try to tell you what to do haha asian parents) they let me go to LA by myself and it was my first solo trip. I was scared, but nervous. Right when I landed in LA, I went to a ramen place and set my luggage down and had a mid bowl of ramen. LOL. Two guys who lived in LA because they appear in music videos (such as Doja Cat and Post Malone) invited me to an underground party that night. I thought wow this is my first hour in LA and this happens to me? But no, much to my dad’s pleasure I knew better than to go to a party like that LMAO. It’s quite funny because after I came back from LA, he praised me for not going. Does he not know me any better? I’m a good girl HAHAHAH. Olivia ended up recognizing me from a TikTok when I met her at the event. That trip was life changing because it gave me confidence that I could achieve things on my own. It was my efforts on TikTok and my ability to take chances that got me there. This made me post more on Instagram after seeing other creators at the event, and now I built a following on Instagram and that’s how I found you :) After moving to college, I met a lot of people but hmm I’ve only been there for one quarter so I’m not sure how I feel. But, I can tell for sure I need to surround myself with like minded people who have their goals and career in priority. Since I’m 21, a junior in college, it’s a bit draining hanging around 19 year olds who care only about partying LOL. But that changed when I went to a YouTube dinner. I met amazing people and people who motivated me. Now I’m so focused and happy.
Wow such a long rant, but I wanted to let you in to my personal life a bit. Should I talk more about this? Anyway, I appreciate you so much. After meeting and seeing such rude people online, to the point where I wanted to leave social media, it feels amazing to see your kind and loving comments to me. I cant see all the kind comments on social media, but I see each and every one of you here. Thank you to those who are respectful of me. I love you so much!!!!!

Congrats on the personal growth and all that you’ve accomplished this year!! And sorry you’ve been dealing with so much negativity online. It’s the haters who are always the most vocal so hope you don’t let it bother you too much and know that you have plenty of people & family that support you!! Cheers to 2024 🥂
