I've just spent the last 2 weeks listening to all of these podcasts, you're doing a tremendous job with them and I couldn't think of a better patreon perk. Anyway, your attitude to visiting tourist attractions really struck a nerve with me as I am exactly the same way and I find it super obnoxious that so many places either force or strongly encourage you to go on a group tour when you just know you'd get so much more out of the visit if you were left alone to do your own thing.

Thanks for visiting my hometown and speaking so highly of it. I grew up just north of Wheeling, but went to high school there. It is an incredibly depressed place, even compared to 20 years ago. I spent many an hour at the casino and dog track, my father worked there for many years! I don't have family there anymore, and only 1-2 friends still living there but I still find myself going back 1-2 times a year just to spend a few days and enjoy the atmosphere. There's an effort to revitalize the downtown area, I really hope things start to turn around. I really look forward to seeing your video and polaroids!

Oh I am exactly the same way, I can relate to that! For me relaxing is being on an adventure, not going somewhere and sitting around. I love exploring and seeing new things. You are doing it right Dan. If one invests the time and money to travel at least go and explore the place you are going too. Life is only so long and we spend a lot of it just sitting around at home so... As for smoking, I can relate to that too, unfortunately :(

Loved the Fernando story....I can just visualize the looks you got from the crowd....if Rick was there, he would have gotten out in the crowd and started to sing and dance....LOL!
