I’ve heard good things about Reaper too!
other = REAPER It's a well featured program for a very agreeable price. VSTs with that :) I tried Logic, pro tools, etc. Probably because of where I was in my music journey they just did not click with me.

Interesting! I hadn't heard of modplug
Ableton but i don't really love it. I spent 10 years abusing modplug and it warped my brain.
Other = Studio One (the free version that comes with the PreSonus Audiobox)
