I get where you're coming from, I do. It is rarer for young men to use the word "sweetheart." That being said, Howie is absolutely the kind of person who would use that word. Have we been reading the same comic? He's extremely sensitive and sweet, he loves using pet names and has done so multiple times. He absolutely would use that word, and of course he would, because he did. He literally calls Casey "Baby" all the time despite him acting like he doesn't like it. Sooch has shown and expressed to Howie that he is at least comfortable enough for strangers to know they are dating (making out in public TWICE now). Howie absolutely would.

Really? Howie's face doesn't look like someone who just had sex with a guy who he's been in love with for years i.e happy. He looks concerned. It was the authors choice to draw his face like that. Tbf Casey hasn't said anything since they both climaxed. This is the first time Casey has had sex with another man (according to their knowledge). If I was Howie, I would worry about Casey getting 'post-nut clarity'. Howie may be wrong about the situation but the concern he may have would be valid and based on what has happened in the past in this story regarding his relationship with Casey. As readers, we can interpret the story based on what the writer has given us.

As someone who is gay and with a man right now, this IS sex. Sex doesn't always have to be penetrative. Sex can be oral, it can be anal, it can be even be a simple but heavy make out session with touching. As long as both people involved are satisfied sexually (which in this case they very much are), it's sex. This isn't to call you out, but saying sex can only be penetrative is not a great. It reduces big story moments like this down to "it wasn't enough". It can even harm irl opinions and views on gay relationships. We just ask that you be a bit more mindful about this kind of reaction.
