There was a comp a few years back i believe for her album cover, and they never gave credit to the artists as well as used the art submissions without perms but technically it WAS with perms cause of the terms and conditions that millions didnt read

I don't think Google will follow suit, but I'm not surprised about Apple because I believe they plan to do another stock split soon, though they'll never return back to not using the 30% increase. For the Iphone users out there, if you consider switching to Samsung/Android (yes ik the ongoing suprifilous debate about which is better) I can guarantee a few things: 1) The camera has better functionality (Its actually proven the the tech used on ios is 3 years behind Samsungs camera functionality) 2) You will have more creative and product utility freedoms for your droid (mostly cause think Samsung to Ps5 as Iphone to Xbox. There's more availability depending on what you use your phone for) 3) FOR ARTISTS ESPECIALLY: Samsung DOES NOT upload automatically to a cloud space! You can disable this on Google too. The key difference is anything uploaded to Apple's cloud per they're Terms and Conditions technically becomes they're property (which is why you use hardwear to save things). You can fact check me yourselves, but that is the legal implications, similar to Adobe. (If you remember the Billie Eilish competition you know EXACTLY what outrage I'm refering to). There are more perks ofc, but the main downside is that Apple's security is automatically better in certain respects because of its single use system to Ios compared to the widely used Android by multiple companies. Also no text message games or money transfers (but I was more speaking on the productivity side of things anyways). I hope this helps anyone, and I'm sorry this happened Bittie :(

Yeah unfortunately I think it will negatively impact creators because, even though the fee can be avoided by using the web, people may not want to be bothered to take that extra step. Or people who don't realize that they can use the web to avoid fees may be turned off by the fee they see on the app and choose not to subscribe at all

Just delete the app. Use Chrome on your phone. The UI is a little different but the website figures out it is on a small screen and does reasonable things. You can reinstall it later, if you really miss it (you won't). But deleting the app will help Apple to figure out that they blew it with this money grab.

WTF, did they let John Scully back into the building? Fuck 'em. I've already deleted the app. I use Chrome on my iToys and have bookmarks for Patreon that follow me around, so it's no big loss. I *was* thinking of upgrading my iPhone and iPad, but nah..... suddenly I'm no longer in the mood. So there is $1000+ in revenue out the window! Way to go Apple!

Idk if you have Amazon prime subscription but with it you can access the Amazon photos app and it will back up an unlimited amount of photos online. You can access through the web app and then choose if you want to back up to pc or Amazon drive/cloud. Hope this helps!

You can make changes to your subscription without worrying about any fees by using a web browser! Either a computer or your phone's browser is safe. The fee that Apple is enforcing is only applicable to in-app purchases made in the Apple Store.

Both Google Play and Apple Store take 30% if the app purchases the in-app subscription service. The work-around I’ve used on the apps I’ve designed is linking to a web app to handle the subscriptions. I’m not sure why Patreon is forced to use the Apple subscription service as well. Very weird.

I always try to keep you guys updated whenever I hear about changes! And yes, I triple checked and I am certain that current monthly subscribers won't be impacted by this change, only new ones. I'm sure Patreon negotiated that because many current subscribers would leave if they were suddenly charged more.

Thanks for the update. Apple is an absolute menace to society. The only reason I stuck with iPhone with my last phone purchase in 2020 was because I have so many photos from the past decade that I would lose, but figuring out a way to strip those out and put them on an external drive may be worth it at this point. Thankfully for this, though, I operate entirely on the browser version because I hate using apps for routine browsing lol. Even so, goodness.

Google will almost certainly follow suit, but yes, Apple’s handling of subscription services in apps and side loading has always bothered me. Coincidentally, Google is announcing new Pixel phones in 45 minutes lol.

FYI Google does this as well with purchases through their Play Store apps (although maybe at a lower rate? not sure), I personally sign up for any subscriptions directly from the provider on my computer to avoid the extra b.s. fees
