I love the insight Sooch's inner monologue gives us here. Not about them having sex, though. I think he also sees what they've been doing so far as already having sex, he just starts thinking about other forms like penetration as well, and it's easier (and shorter) to write his thoughts like this and not end up with a novel in one comic panel; and it might show he just isn't used to/doesn't know yet other terms to describe their experiences together. But what I really like is him discovering a new side about himself and realizing just how much he can lose himself in the moment with Howie, to the point where he only thinks about what he did afterwards. And what I love is the fact that (so far, let's see what the next update brings XD) he doesn't think something along the lines of "I hope Howie doesn't think it was weird" or "Was I too much for Howie?" At least for me that shows the trust Sooch has in Howie and their relationship, just like he realized before Howie trusts their foundation more and more. Sooch finds out new things about himself and maybe starts thinking about more ways to have sex with Howie, but he never questions whether Howie could see him differently for anything he does.

Oh I'm sure it's not what the author thinks, I was "talking to" Sooch here. It's only logical that he looks at sex through heteronormative glasses, considering how long he tought of himself as straight. I find it sad that he and a lot of people (even among the gay community) thinks heteronormative penetration-centered vision of sex is the only way to have sex. It's bullshit for straight couples, too, so I hope he won't pressure himself with it. Pretty sure it was sex already for Howie, and that this man will be on board for every want and boundary Sooch will formulate, as long as he feels good and safe.

I can’t remember specifically when, but I think Bittie has actually mentioned that there’s not just one way to have sex. So in this case, I believe it’s more so that Sooch thinks this (which would also be in his character considering he was previously used to heteronormative relationships).
