Honestly it's really hard, most are basic liars - they claim they can do the artwork examples I give them, then it falls well short). It's uber hard to find the professionals.
I got 300 messages on twitter when i made a request, half where bots or overseas scammers - but this artist ^^ above had a go.
I've asked to change her hair and glove colour to differentiate a bit, other than that i'm generally happy (ish). I mean it's better than the rest, and i've gone through a ton so far.
What do you think?
My only problem with this artist, is it took him 2 and a half weeks to get this and is slow to respond.
I mean i'm coding the game, and i'm able to create a whole new character plus poses every 4 or 5 days. ...still, it's a pretty good attempt; clothing is slick.
Final thought, I need to play it careful; because if the game does super well, i need to ensure this artist doesn't all of a sudden claim royalties (we've spoke about it - but i might need something binding). ...Or I could just stick to my own art 🤣
Sorry, these are the thoughts going through my head, I genuinely thought it would be easier to find professional people out there.

Looks pretty good. I don't see the harm in getting the extra help even if the output is slow as long as the quality remains high then that can at least take some of the pressure off of you.

I think it took him about 5 times longer than what I would do. Also he copied one of my characters almost verbatim in the face (Kira) even the shiny spots on her nose. But made the hair different....so i need to think about it. I let him finish off the changes, add some new poses and see how it goes from there!

Yeah, this is a good point - i'll see how the artist responds to some of the change requests etc.

Hmm I'm unsure on the one hand taking him in will divide the work load making it easier for you, but on the other hand he is good-ish and takes too long to make art gotta have that cohesion between developer and artist or else one falls short of the other.

Then he is probably short on commissions and truly wanted a change but the emotion and care is there I would give him a shot if they fail to provide cut them loose

Yeah i think so too, though this artist really hounded me to get a shot. He kept DMing me saying 'have you made your mind up yet?' lol

If they are slow to respond they are usually super busy with commissions and this one actually looks good still prefer your though
