I thought going straight for tony the tiger colours was a bit on the nose, especially since they are meant to alien.
I wanted to keep the genetic familiarities similar and relatable, but with a twist - that's why Kira is blue, and thats how I made an entire subspecies of Sekarri around it.
In the game it will go much more into detail why that is, their diet, where on the planet they were localised to. And how is it Krita is more brown/orange, Fel is more Cheetah Yellow and explain a lot of the diversity.
You'll even run into awkward situations where you need to be sensitive ...well you don't NEED to, some may even respect you if you just say it like it is.
Really depends on the characters you talk to.

Hello brand new character who's someone's cousin! Lovely to meet you ;) / In either color she looks very nice indeed. The racial differences are a good touch though and if nothing else really draw the eyes to them lol. Any time frame for when the rest of the AU story? I know I'm pestering but it was my kinda reading!

Agee with both orange and blue look very good, but I do like her final design with the background of why that is. Maybe if you wanted to keep the original as a separate character, like a cousin.
