For those of you who don't know, Ivakan is inspired by Val Kilmer's Iceman. Truly sad to see him go, such a wonderful actor.
🕑 Added 2025-04-05 07:52:51 +0000 UTCOf course Ivakan isn't a carbon copy, both characters in the movie were just templates for inspiration. I wanted to add two top hot shots, that would challenge the idea just using drones piloted by AI.
There are flashback stories in the game of how the whole fleet and Alara came to admire Kane and Ivakan for managing extremely out the box thinking, working together one moment, competing the next but ultimately showing that Sekarri kind could still compete in the space domain.

I can honestly say I teared up at Maverick and Iceman’s reunion in Top Gun: Maverick. For some reason it felt like a “goodbye” to not only Iceman, but to Val himself.
