Like most body modifications, they don't appeal to me, but I don't mind them either. Specifically nipple piercings are controversial because they reduce sensitivity by severing thousands of nerve connections. On the other hand, some people swear by them and claim that such piercings increase sensitivity. The big factor is whether the pierced person likes them, and if so, that (the liking) is what's sexy about it.
