“Is this really happening?” (Monthly Patreon Exclusive Blog - March)
🕑 Added 2022-03-27 18:39:53 +0000 UTCIt has been a while since we’ve spoken and there’s so much to unpack! Once the album was released, we wanted to take a break because the burnout was MASSIVE. However, in typical Bloodywood fashion, all plans went belly-up lol. Most of it was because of good reasons, while some not so much. Let’s get talking!
1. ALBUM RECEPTION
HO. LEE. SHIT. Rakshak, our debut album, our baby, our foray into the metal-verse, has performed above and beyond anything we expected. It almost feels wrong calling it “baby” because it turned out to be a monster from day 1 of release (no wonder giving birth to it was an excruciating experience lol). Here’s just some of the highlights we’d like to share:
Charting positions:
Billboard (US)
- #46 Top Current Album Sales
- #3 Top Current Hard Music Albums
- #4 Top New Artist Albums
- #5 Digital Albums
- #17 Independent Current Albums
- #18 Current Rock Albums
- #32 Heetseekers Albums
- #93 Album Sales
Official Charts (UK)
- #8 Rock and Metal Albums
- #10 Album Downloads
- #62 Album Sales
iTunes Chart Peak Positions
- #4 Worldwide
- #8 USA
- #2 Russia
- #9 Germany
- #25 France
- #1 India
- #18 Australia
- #28 Japan
These charts and positions are ones that NO Indian band has ever achieved! WHAT?
Quobuz – Qobuzissime Award for debut album “Rakshak” (An award given by the streaming platform Quobuz to debut albums with exceptional recording quality)
Nominated for Heavy Music Awards - Best International Breakthrough Band(voting is still open, you can vote here: https://vote.heavymusicawards.com/
Appreciation from eminent personalities - This would be too long a list to type out. Legendary game designers, award winning authors, star chefs, platinum producers, even WWE wrestlers were raving about Rakshak! However, the fact that Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine himself shared one of our songs takes the cake :D Here's his tweet:

So now you know where the title of this Patreon post comes from.

That’s just about the tip of the iceberg in terms of everything that’s going on right now. There’s some super exciting stuff that we can’t talk about yet because it isn’t finalised yet, but here’s a hint - it involves a triple A game studio ;)
Looking forward to a 100 things at a time right now. We feel we’re finally achieving something and the best part is its just the beginning! We made a promise to y’all that we’d make you proud. Here’s hoping we made good on that promise to a certain extent :)
Truckloads of love,
