but basically, Daniel was assigned to find work for the xeno and report about them from time to time, and that's why we started to see him a lot more during part 2 of the story.

technically, all of the xeno got a degree of human genes injected into them. but the person you're referring to (the guy in episode 1) it's now just missing, whatever happened to him happened during the time C.WALLY was assigned to the project.
