I wanted to want to give you guys a heads up about a sales tax law that’s being put into place July 1st! This is not a big deal at all by any means. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up! This sales tax if you were affected and its worst case scenario you will be charged $.33 extra every month. No1 will even see an extra 35cents being charges to them. Of course this is not my doing this is a tax law that is just going into effect July 1. I thought you guys would just like a little bit of information. So for all of my patrons that are based in Europe nothing will change for you. Y’all have been charged VAT for around 4-5yrs now. So for you guys in the EU you will not see any changes to your charged amount. The sales tax rate and law will be based on your location (the patrons location) not every single patron will see a sales tax charge because not everyone lives in a taxable region. sales tax rates in the US range from 4% to 11% and less than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax and foremost the amount will be very small. So for you guys my lovely patrons- The lowest amount that you might be charged is .12cents extra onto the $3.00 making your charge every month $3.12 And the highest amount that you might be charged is $.33 extra onto the $3.00 making your charge every month $3.33. So again if you are in the EU you will not see any difference in your charged amount every month. And if you are in the US depending on the region that you live you may or may not be taxed. If you are taxed once again the lowest amount that will be charged onto you is that 4% making your charge amount every month $3.12. And if you are charged the highest amount that will be charged onto you is that 11% making your charge amount every month $3.33. And if you are taxed somewhere in between 4% and 11% then your charge amount every month will be between $3.12 to $3.33. Again this is totally out of my control. So it’s truly not a big deal. You will see the slightest change in your charged amount every month.

So basically they realized how much money Patreon is pulling and figured they could tax the sale per customer based on their states sales tax lol.
