I only managed to get it to have all this fit and volume precisely because the fabric is velvety, so it's quite thick and that helped a lot!
Even because of the volume, I didn't think it was necessary to make the skirt go around the entire hip, otherwise I would end up with a lot of fabric accumulated unnecessarily, so I made enough pleats to cover only the front area, what do you think?๐ค

I don't know, just testing to find out hmm ๐ค But the volume on the hips of this green skirt will be essential for the beige dress to keep the pleats well formed, so anything I think if you make a light peticoati, it would be fine maybe!โจ

i love how detailed the pleats are! i wonder if it'd look the same on a more loose fabric. there are some wonderful linen-viscose blends in my fabric stash, which are perfect for summer ๐ฉท
