Regarding Bricklink Errors - Reply in comments!

UNTIL THEN I HAVE A TUTORIAL FIX BELOW.
You may have remembered back in February I had to manually re-adjust nearly 150+ Parts List XML files because of a massive overhaul update to Bricklink.com (that nobody wanted and has caused a headache for everyone using the site).
Unfortunately since then there’s been random errors on random pieces that by all accounts should work (like the hinge piece).
When I prepare the parts list I always have to manually upload them first to test them and the ones I release always work just fine.
Then, weeks later, they suddenly stop working.
I have a fix for it below, please use this tutorial when you can.
THE FIX:
When you receive an error when uploading a XML parts list file, please do the following:
-write down the piece number of the pieces causing the error as they are shown in the error message
-manually search those piece numbers in Bricklink search and cross reference match them with the same piece in the visual parts list at the back of the instructions PDF. Then write down the piece color and piece quantity needed for the build.
-open the XML file in your desktop browser via a text editing app (typically whatever it defaults to when you double click the file)
-ctrl+f to open the search feature; search the piece number for the afflicted piece; delete the paragraph associated with that piece; save the file
IF THE PIECE CAUSING THE ERROR HAS A LETTER “a”, “b”, or “c” NEXT TO THE NUMBER (ex. “44302a”), simply ONLY delete the single letter “a” and save the XML. The Parts List should then load just fine and be a COMPLETE parts list without errors or missing pieces.
-try to input the XML file back into Bricklink. Without the error piece the wanted list should form perfectly fine. Note it is now MISSING the piece you deleted.
-finally, remember to manually add the error pieces via their Bricklink catalog page as outlined in step 2. Double check color and quantity matches the back of the instructions. Click add to wanted list, and add it to the monster wanted list.

You are probably inputting incorrectly. You have to copy and paste the text into the pastebin box on the dedicated tab

I'm having an issue with Valstrax. When paste the XML file it just says Content is not allowed in prologue; it doesn't list any parts or anything.

Yes that’s the piece. For now, remove it from the list as described in the troubleshooting guide above. Then search for the piece on Bricklink and manually add it. It likely has a new ID number

Hello, and thanks a ton for your efforts here! I think this is the right place to post this, but on the Seikret.xml, there is an ItemID >x127c11< that returns an error on bricklink (looks like the bridle piece, two studs connected by string). Any ideas?

I’m not sure what country you’re in, but where I’m living postal shipping prices are determined by weight. So if it’s a lot of heavy pieces, they might charge more. Though some stores just over charge on shipping.

I am not familiar with Brick Link at all, does it seem reasonable to have Items worth 33€ have a shipping of 40€ from one shop in my own country?

Youve got to remove the "a" he answered my comm about the same piece (not the same set tho) hope this helps

Open the file in a text editor app. Use Ctrl-F to find 32064, and delete the “c”. Repeat for 44302’s “a”. Save the document and reupload.

Patreon doesn’t let me individually select files on each post. So either I release individual posts for each new XML or regularly update a single post that will inevitably get buried. It just doesn’t really work. I would hope if it’s actually a financial issue, that a patron would only subscribe when they can afford it and cancel it after downloading it.

Hi, I have a question/request. Would it be possible make all the parts lists available for free? (Not the instructions obviously) It would be nice to make a plan for a build and when I know I can get all the parts substribe for a month. Dont missunderstand me, your work is awesom and I would even be fine with paying for each individual instruction. But just from playing a bit with the free Instructions on bricklink, it became clear, that the cost estimates in your spread sheet can vary by so much as +-50% (depending on how much you wanna try to cut costs or overspend). And that can be a lot considering a buid like fatalis.

Try to use Desktop if you can. It is possible to do it on Mobile but it’s prone to issues. Otherwise I’ll need a specific example.
