I love how this movie is like a love letter to a beautiful tradition, and a beautiful message. To remember your loved ones who have passed, and through us telling their stories they live on. My husband’s grandmother had Alzheimer’s and this movie hit extra hard because of that. Even on her bad days, she still remembered her favorite songs. So when mama cocoa sings it’s game over.

Raymond, take a quick dive into Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (one of the characters). I think her artistry influenced some of the design elements. I always remember her for using vibrant flowers in women's hair.

Even when I saw where it was all going and thought I wouldn't cry, I was oh so wrong. The thought of being able to see my mom again really hit hard. My dad and I were somewhat estranged from the time I was 15. He died when I was 36. I relate to you in the sense of wanting to know his side of things. My stepsister, after his death, told me how he missed me all the time, cried about me, loved me so much. And all I could say was that I wished he would have said it to me when he was alive. I feel you, Raymond. You're going to be such a wonderful father. No doubt. 💙 A beautiful beautiful film.

I’ll admit I wasn’t the happiest about this winning over inside out (I’ve never seen this movie) But after watching this… I’m genuinely happy it won. Wow….
