Same. I saw this in the theater when it came out, with my dad and bonus mom, and was a sobbing wreck at the end. Suffice it to say - my mother, who was the one who moved me across the country away from my family and friends, did not have the same parenting style as Riley's parents. I didn't run away, but I didn't get that feeling of comfort and safety Riley got at the end. And definitely lost my goofball island. BUT - at 44, with a decent amount of therapy, it's coming back :)

They said as an adult it’s not so much sadness but it’s evolved into empathy, anger is protection , boundaries, they really did their research on this stuff, all the layers, it’s wonderful, and hope you react to the second inside out movie!

Its sad smh..I wonder if I had an imaginary friend. And if I did, i would like to believe in this situation it would do the same for me..and I would never know because he vanished..I think thats the sad part ..it feels eerily relatable in a inner child type of way..its very innocent and pure..he died happy knowing he gave his child back her joy😭😭😭😭😭

Peeps, I said Joy had some toxic positivity but honestly she's just an extension of the kid internalizing how she feels she needs to behave to lower the burden on her family😁♥️..leaving sadness to basically die looks crazy when you add a face a voice and a personality to it though right? 😅😅😅

I love this movie so much. I moved states when I was a kid and the way Riley experiences it is so raw for me still. This film has such an enjoyable way of explaining the emotional spectrum for children.
