Ghornet

Daaaamn those are goood. The surprise unlock is interesting. I'm guessing core skill points increase something at its core? I dunno. Let's find out.

Blackmoon11

The honorable Dame Ilea of Rhyvor . I guess a dead kingdom is still a kingdom. Plenty of people have had one over Ilea (the ascended and Claire come to mind) but Maro definitely is at the top of that list

MountainFox

I like how everyone straight up ignored the fact that the system validates Ilea's knighthood. Also Maro best troll. Literally the only one to screw with Ilea's life choices and live. Maybe.

L Pedersen

Please feed us.

levon

Kinda agree with your choices. Only thing I am not sure about is storage vs space awareness.

She did get a badarse flame and the class is about a burning valkyrie empowered with space magic, so it would be pretty lackluster if she didn't take at least one of the fire skills that use it. TBH I hope she stays away from the ranged magic attack skills and remains the close-quarters melee type without getting too mage-y... I'm quite interested in how she reasons out the choices.

sharkattack

Given her comments, I'd predict: A: Flare of Creation, Force / Displacement, Phaseshift P: Body of the Valkyrie, Space Shift, Lull of Battle / Dimension Storage I personally like: A: Flare of Creation, Spear of Creation, Blazing Force Shield (only if Spear + Shield can be hands-free, else:) A: Flare of Creation, Force, Phaseshift P: Body of the Valkyrie, Space Shift, Space Awareness I like Lull of Battle's potential but killing the Ascended comes first. Alternatively she could just level to 500+ and roll him and the skill choices won't matter.

Daniel D.

That is a good point. Ultimately, her fast advancement relies on being able to take risks and run away from mistakes. So I could see her taking that instead of Force. (Flare of Creation is wicked cool, and Displacement offers even more options than Force for controlling the battlespace.)

MauMau

Phaseshift is a must-have, it lets her escape when she's pierced/blocked/caught. It would cancel her biggest weakness.

Zarik0

i reread the skill resistance effect list so i change my choice of best skill i think Active - Flare of Creation Active – Displacement and Active – Force, combo wombo Passive – Space Shift and Passive – Body of the Valkyrie and finally Passive – Space Awareness (renforce all skill space and particulary combo force-displacement + perception etc etc) Passive – Lull of Battle is good but better now space awareness after rereading resistance drain stamina effect at tier 2, forget about this resistance who quasi completely cover her weakness in stamina vs anti stamina build Stamina Drain Resistance: The more rarely used drain magic focused on Stamina. Its effects are not as immediately noticeable as Health or Mana drain skills but the end result is just as devastating. You have leaned to resist such spells to an extent. 2nd stage: Stamina exhaustion won’t impact you as heavily anymore as it did previously. Your body is used to rapid magical Stamina Drain and can counteract its absence through mana and health respectively. so stamina is a "useless" ressource for her at this point with this awesome passive 2nd stage

Have you guys noticed the description of spear of creation has 'extension of your arms' in it. Perhaps it should be possible to channel Illea's mana intrusion abilities with it.

Estrini

phaseshift, force, displacement; body of the Valkyrie, spaceshift, space awareness

Estrini

I have read this many times the I think only one combo makes sense. Displacement, phase shift, force; space awareness, Space shift, body of the Valkyrie

I wish Ilea gets more skill slots eventually when Valkyrie class evolve into high tier. 3/3 at lvl 1, 4/4 at lvl 200, 5/5 at lvl 300 would be great. :D

With Space Shift being a must have I believe Displacement would be better than Force. Displacement could/should fall under teleportation while Force doesn't so it would synergize together. Looking back at chapter 3 however we see Blink is only teleportation magic. Depends on how strict the author wants to be with space in relation to teleportation.

Adam Roundfield

What if core points designate skills as core skills and then after 20 are designated there is a class change. Considering the extreme difficulty in getting those points, maybe the 20 selected skills become the new primary class and all remaining skills become general skills. At this point the cycle of getting a second and third class is basically reset with the primary class now being a "prestige" class. With a bunch of awesome general (formerly class specific) skills waiting to either incorporate into or unlock new "prestige" second and eventually third classes.

Cadastral

5% at skill level 1, then multiplied by 900%( 800 for body enhancement + 100 for space magic). Not terribly powerful yet, but as she levels the skill that multiplier will really make a difference.

Cadastral

I doubt separate class skills could merge. I could maybe see that happening with general skills, though.

Daniel D.

Space Shift is a given, and Space Awareness is practically required with the looming threat of the Ascended. So then Displacement and Force would synergize well with those passives, and would give her more options for battlespace control.

Daniel D.

Flare of Creation + Body of the Valkyrie = hardbody to the max.

Zarik0

yeah and displacement in the description can tp a person, so its another tp she can use on her without the "restraint" on blink? with the limited description with no restriction on it it look like it

Dominic French

Yeah the phase shift sounds great and all but I can't see it being the bread and butter like the other ones will be. Hell maybe once she unlocks the restrictions on the class she can get a full class of skills

Rule #2 double tap. Heart of cinders + burst combo? I'm sold

Johannes Sauer

I was so mad when she went Fire mage to suport her godly azarinth class. I think between Force and Displacment there is no right or wrong choice. I would go with displacment though. And i realy hope she can pay 4 core points for an adotional passive. So she can pick um storage. Its likely that the Fae knew that Ilea had met the conditions for Valkyrie and if she thinks storage is a must have for lategame fights it is likely as she says. Still perception seems essential. I hate this.

Johannes Sauer

I hope so. Because not being able to go for 4 passives would hurt a lot.

ClapTrapCL4TP

Everyone is all force or displacment, when clearly burst of creation wins out against both.

Seb

The Fae specifically told her that her storage item can be used against her and that she should get a storage skill ASAP, so there's that

Seb

But for enemies with space resistance (ascended, which she is one of her goals to beat), displacement will do literally nothing. Sure, it might displace magic and/or other ranged attacks at higher tiers, but all of the high level enemies teleport alot, so redirecting magic is just a worse alternative to teleporting out of the way. Displacement has no effect on melee combat. Force on the other hand, can re-direct magic and skills (presumably at a higher tier), both ranged and melee. Even with space resistance, force should still have some effect, just lessened, so it will still be useful against the ascended. Displacement seems cool, but ultimately useless against both the ascended and high level enemies in general. Like there's no way Ilea can displace a basilisk, and even if she can displace the ascended, it will just teleport again.

Seb

Honestly, I just love this magic system soo much! I really wish there was a video game or something with progression like this

tibbish

Yuuuuup. Ilea is already absurd and her getting stronger over time by 'just' levelling is making her even more absurd with her absurd Classes which she now has 3 of which is just just TOTALLY absurd!!!! Guys I think the Ilea is absurd ship already sailed.... But yeah still highly speculative that these new Core points would let her do anything like get 16 more skill slots for her classes.

levon

Just noticed. Space shift buffs displacement. Winder how the synergy will change at higher tiers

Dakota

Im with you on there being more to the core sp than just 4th tier perhaps x sp exchange for new skill slot or free levels on general skills res ext based on current lvl or rarity but im sure gh has a grand plan

Zarik0

yay i really think phaseshift is a skill full of hole (a lot of people saying the different hole in other comment) its to unreliable, better force and displacement combo for all different possibility covered, after this its 50/50 i think, Space Awareness can enhance more all space skill and particulary this combo force and displacement but Lull of Battle can cover her weakness vs build anti stamina and later maybe get her more more tanky/sustenable if its link to mana health or evolve to some shit

Michael scott

Why is 16 to many. Yes, it's a lot, a normal person wouldn't get that many. Since when is Ilea normal. A normal person would only have a few Xtra. If they just allowed a person to advance a 3rd ties skill to the 4th tier why would it be called a core skill.

Michael scott

I have been thinking on the core skill points. This is just an off the wall idea, but the word core in the description gives me ideas. How about it sets up a new group of skills that she can choose from all her classes. The fact that you need an impressive achievement to get them and that they aren't called 4th tier skill points but core skilled points. This says to me it may be a little different from what we are thinking.

Venalitor

These last three chapters have been a riot. The class descriptions tickle all the right humors as usual and the banter and reminescing is very much appreciated. I completely cracked up at when 'Trakorov Rider' came up. The only ones who can tell Ilea how to eat are the ones who make her food. Those skills really would be hard to choose from.

Scott

For everyone on the phaseshift bandwagon, it literally says "Be aware that certain types of magic will retain some or all of their impact." If any of those effects have any kind of physical component then phase is rendered useless for covering the blink restriction. Also, with how niche it is, it will be very difficult to level up. And when it counts it may not even work. Additionally, anything that can make her use phaseshift once, can probably make her need to use it repeatedly thereby draining even her massive mana pool.

But what if to get those "core skills" it's not a 1 to 1 but 3, 5 to 1?

Zarik0

yeah waiting what core skill are its its only for geting her third class tier skill its suck so hard, i hope its some shit like subliming some of her skill (not get another tier but some evolution for reinforce get some or another bonus with, maybe combine skill, well so many possibility, waiting what the author get with hope its surprise us :)) and maybe a prerequiste like she need achievement with skill like what she need fo getting her tier 3 resistance

Zarik0

Flare of Creation deal damage to mana and construct (magic) (+ her mana intrusion do that to so no need for Spear of Creation or Blazing Force Shield, Force and Displacement (displacement she can use it on her too i think, like in part of her body its like a second blink i guess, she chop her head and use displacement + force + ashe for move) like you say to good in versability and all stuff she can do with and (maybe some storage later) and its only tier 1 future evolution i guess are to op, Phaseshift is not needed for travel realm her future blink + other stuff can do thah she can already use it for going back a realm, and meeh Phaseshift is not a all escape she can get pinned down by some magic when used so no point, high mana cost, just a moment in Phaseshift and no reliability when she can get down by some shit space or other magic when used much better to combo Force and Displacement for this type of situation and other stuff, the problem is Lull of Battle (later evolution insane i guess for more tankinees or survivability) or Space Awareness like you say its bof but maybe its give insane bonus later to all her skill with space ability (blink, Force and Displacement if she get this combo (maybe later storage with this bonus), realm travel easy?, her perception on space is already enoff vs tp ennemie and all stuff with her sphere and resist space/void so i prefer Lull of Battle for cover "her last big weakness" stamina and maybe her stamina later get bonus for linked with her health and mana and healing (remanber she as only 4000 stamina if she get a mega spell draining or getiing her stamina out with some shit spell/curse/etc its over, 0 stamina = she cant do anything and or loose conscience, at this point we never see ennemie with build anti stamina but some spell exist so for sure they exist she can have 18 k mana if her stamina get out she dead)

Songy

...while still being very honor-/principle-orientated. It really fits. Yeah I was to focused on the whole phoenix thing to acknowledge that Valkyries are a thing and would still count as a not very human thing.

Core skill points require achievements and they will definitely be needed to get 3rd class skills to t3 which shows difficulty of advancing the class compared to the main classes where you just needed higher levels for t3 skill points. It's a class that comes from surpassing race limits so there's even the possibility core skill points will be required to advance skills to t2. A potential big difference from main class skills that advance to t2 naturally and shows the difficulty of advancing a class beyond race limits. Especially since ileas 16 core points would normally be very difficult to attain even for someone who unlocked a 3rd class and 12 may possibly be required just to get the 6 skills to t3

Adam Roundfield

Shift a space and lock it away... Maybe use a space that just so happens to contain a few tons of lava... When in doubt, suddenly the battlefield is swimming in lava, kind of an "oh shit" button.

sharkattack

My take in the context of an Ascended killer build: Passives: - Body of the Valkyrie: Body Enhancement (class bonus stacking) defensive buffs. Say no more. - Space Shift: Blink buffs, vital to survivability. - Space Awareness: Use to predict/detect/avoid the Ascended's space/void attacks. Potential upgrades are indeterminate. - Lull of Battle: Upgrades may increase HP/MP sustain, needed for T3 healing while attacking. - Dimension Storage: Utility skill, no help at all for fighting. Storage items are good enough. Actives: - Flare of Creation: Body Enhancement (class bonus stacking) offensive and defensive buffs. Say no more. - Spear of Creation: Anti magic defense counter. Use to quickly crack the Ascended's magic shields. "Wield as an extension of your arms" sounds like possible future Body Enhancement evolution talk. Could also be an actual summoned spear (singular), which would not fit Ilea's fighting style. If it floats in the air, can be shot like her ashen lances, upgrades to multiples, it would be fine. - Blazing Force Shield: Anti magic attack counter. Depends on shield's form, does it need to be held in hand, or does it freely float around caster? Can it be upgraded to a spherical shield? Devour = deletes all the metal/void spam, possible MP absorb upgrade. Good counter vs resistance-less metal magic. Good vs creators/manipulators by deleting their ammo. * Note: Spear + Shield together has a very Valkyrie-esque aesthetic that can be brought out when wanting to intimidate by intentionally revealing third class. Goes well with Ashen Wings. - Force: Works on multiple targets. Use to knock away Ascended's metal spam. Since it targets the metal, it shouldn't be affected by its Space Resistance. - Phaseshift: High MP cost, short duration, likely can't attack while shifted (would need a partial shift). Use to escape cornered/pin situations. Risk: unknown what magic schools will still deal damage, probably not metal/blood, but likely space/void. - Shrouding Cloak: Could be highly effective for avoiding Ascended's attacks. Doesn't suit Ilea's fighting style though, would have to adapt. - Displacement: Targets single person/object. Won't work on Ascended (Space Resistance) or vast amounts of metal spam. Probably won't work on giant ???? creatures either. Maybe can upgrade to target areas and use to clear space of metal spam, would need to rapidly cast though. - Burst of Creation: No class bonuses. Nice fire aura AOE. Turn the Ascended's metal spam into molten metal spam?

Displacement at higher tier could let she create a pocket dimension it the description is right, since the principle of storage devices its to grab space and put in the object (the Smith said back when illea got his name from the guy with the sword item storage), so illea could shift space to somewhere and put itens there. Displacement as utility have far more use than any skill. While space awereness goes hands with phaseshift for realm travel

Why would she replace since they would work together and be more effective that way? Her sphere of perceptions let her knows what happens in its radius, while the space awereness would boost its effectiveness

Fuck, why would take storage with by the looks of displacement illea could make a pocket dimension at higher tier? Since she can "shift space" at tier one, she probably would be able to "shift space" and lock it away so that only she could have access, isn't the same principle that bahadir uses to let him make his tiny storage itens?

Flare of creation instead of shrouding cloak and space awereness instead of lull of battle. Flare is mentioned when she get the class "being touched by the flame of creation" it was even when she got the class, so illea will pick it! Space awereness could work with phaseshift at higher tier so that she can realm travel, since she would need that perception to actively get where she wants to

BeepBoop

If she picks the space sense skill, would there be an Azarinth skill she could replace her sphere with?

ClapTrapCL4TP

Flare of Creation - Bread and Butter Skill —- Burst of Creation - Feels like the skill that became ash creation —- Phaseshift - Survivability is too good to give up —- Body of The Valkyrie - Bread and Butter —- Spaceshift - Good skill overall —- Dimensional Storage - Slow to Level future tiers unknown —- The class must be nurtured if it’s to become as good as a main class

Blackmoon11

So now she is a shadow wrapped in flame. If people were worried about her being a demon before, looking like a Balrog is not going to help matters. I always thought that "knight" kind of fit her general philosophy of life (Much to her constant annoyance), though on reflection, her motivations for her actions have never been particularly "knightly". I have to say Valkyrie definitely fits her better, what with the whole lust for battle and angels of death vibe they have going on.

I think Flare of Creation and Body of the Valkyrie are a must. Flare should damage things almost nothing else will and be great against things that regenerate (which most higher level things seem to do). Body in addition to it's basic buffs may make her immune or lessen the damage she takes from Flare at some point as they are both based in the flame of creation. The later stages of these I think would both be great.

Zarik0

why people get saying get phaseshift for realm travel later? nothing to do with it and blink ALREADY can realm travel (at this moment just going back but later with this new class space magic synergie and Passive - Space Shift enhance blink for sure she can evovlve blink later in tier 4 or 5 or maybe core skill?, and why bother with storage it is vitale? its just some objet useless for her survival the necklace is enought, force and displacement combo is the best so much utility cc etc space resistance block this? meehh its tier 1 lets see what shit later and sry but its not only on "ennemi" its on objet spell construct on their weapon on her, on part of her bodie on everithing its too op for just a phaseshift useless she can do the same with froce and displacement combo and its more flexible so Active - Flare of Creation Active - Force Active - Displacement Passive - Space Shift Passive - Body of the Valkyrie Passive - Lull of Battle ( i know we can have argument for space awareness and lull of battle its 50/50 i think for later evolution and synergie)

Atlas Dwarf

Maybe if you earn X number of 'achievements' you unlock Core points? Notice how the system is keeping tabs on these achievements and we know the system already keeps tabs on people for Classes. A couple of thoughts I had on Core point functions were Class Skill evolves or changing/upgrading specific tiers. It could also mean she might get more Skills in Classes in the future since it sounds like Core points work in all her Classes. Also I wonder how badly you have to screw up for the system to [Lock] away the additional Class. Unless it means losing a Class in general, like going from human to a monster (ie corruption), and that would womp you Core points.

foldedcorners

I think ilea would want phaseshift so she doesn't get "locked out" of places like she did in the blood dungeon a while back. Needing help from someone isn't really her style. Displacement seems like a better version of force.

Displacement has a weakness tho- space resistance. The description specifically states tier 2 onwards resist displacement. Might seem rare but it'd likely be practically useless against the ascended for eg. Force on the other hand sounds to be useful in close combat even if the effect is reduced due to resistance.

Displacement really isn't op, it has a major weakness, space resistance. It specifically says tier 2 onwards resists displacement. Might seem rare but it'd likely be practically useless against the ascended.

I wrote in my previous comment but displacement has a major weakness- space resistance. The description specifically states tier 2 onwards resists displacement. The resistance might seem rare but it'd be significant when/if she fights the ascended. Phase shift on the other hand can be a hail mary. I think force is better than displacement because even if the effect is reduced due to resistance, it'd be still be significant in close combat.

I wrote in a previous comment but displacement has a weakness- space resistance. The description specifically states tier 2 onwards resist displacement. The resistance might seen rare but if she's gonna fight the ascended it'll be significant. We don't know how the resistance affect force but it'd likely still have an effect albeit reduced. This is still extremely useful in close combat.

Matthew Robinson

Thank you so much for the triple! You rock Harthane. So my thoughts. ‘ding’ ‘Following requirements have been met. Has [Locked] or has unlocked an additional class beyond the limitations of their race. Core skill points have been unlocked. Core skill points replace Class specific third tier skill points. First, let’s unpack this. I really want to know the other way of unlocking these core points. She unlocked it by having an additional class but it seems there was another way and that may clue us a little more on what they do. Second, it says they replace Class Specific third tier skill points. We don’t 100% no the reason certain skills could be promoted to third tier but I don’t think it has to do with having five capped as some suggested in the past but rather various usages of the skill itself (just like resistances and other generals need). Thoughts in what Core Means? Not certain, maybe next tier, maybe they become CORE to her so no longer a class skill and not a general skill but something different? As for choices: Active - Flare of Creation (she wants it just to look cool let alone the boost) Active - Phaseshift (removes a limit of Blink that she can’t have things piercing her) Active - Force (because Neo and the possibilities in 2nd and 3rd tier. Displacement is open to being countered by Resistances) Passive - Space Shift (it enhances Blink enough said) Passive - Body of the Valkyrie (we love body enhancements plus we know the 2nd and 3rd tier will be epic because this incorporates the actual class name) Very torn on last passive Passive - Lull of Battle (I lean this way because it seems more suited towards the class and even Ilea I just think it would have great things in 2nd or 3rd tier not to mention potential skill evolutions at future class evolution points) I can however see her picking Passive - Dimensional Storage (makes her body a storage device which is just crazy lol) Another big question is the leveling of this class and will there be future skills available or class evolutions? Choices could become very difficult for her going forward. Loving all of it and looking forward to where we go from here.

ShadeByTheSea

I do like Phaseshift as tier 3 might turn it into a planeshift like ability, But I'm not sure Ilea would go for it.

ShadeByTheSea

My guesses are as follow Active - Flare of Creation Displacement Force Passive - Space Shift Body of the Valkyrie Dimension Storage or Space Awareness(wishful thinking since you can't hit what you can't see, heck might let her see her own storage devices)

Nate

Get you friends who help you plan out your build, haha. I do like the explanation of Ilea wanting to be important but not essential to the Sentinels, so I guess she gets a pass for skipping that one. Should be interesting to see what "Core Skill Points" are - considering how they are obtained they ought to be crazy strong. And if we're fantasy footballing this: Flare of Creation and Body of the Valkyrie are kinda her "thing", so Active: Flare of Creation, Displacement, Phaseshift. Passive: Body of the Valkyrie, Space Awareness, Space Shift. I think that's pretty much the only way to go, but Ilea was also the person who picked up fire mage because she wanted to fly, haha.

ClapTrapCL4TP

The Froce Or Displacment debate is easily solvable because displacment is teleportation which synergies with spaceshit

the must-have active pics in my opinion in order of importance is Phaseshift: Ilea's biggest weakness is getting grappled by an enemy a lot more powerful than her(we all know that she loves to fight enemies a lot more powerful than her). her only counter to this so far has been to cut off her own head. this will plug that weakness. The reason why I picked this above displacement is that I can see her fighting enemies that are resistant ore to big to displace. Displacement: this ability will be a gamechanger. she will be able to move allies to safety and enemies into danger. for example, she can move enemies into their own attacks, she can move them into her attacks or she can move an attacking enemy away from her when Blink is on cooldown. Flare of Creation: the more I think about this skill the better it gets. it's a direct damaging body enhancement skill, her only other skill that is that, is Heart of Cinder and it must be charged. Flare of Creation also damages mana and mana constructs, she might be able to use it to destroy spells, curses, and mana intrusion. she will probably be able to apply it to her ash and on top of all it gives her a defensive boost.

自由

Thank you for the three chapters I really like the new class. Also I can't wait for her to begin grinding some levels or maybe exploring some new parts of the world.

Tetsuki

Can just replace skills

Johannes Sauer

Ragarding the Perception, Space Storage debate. I still feel like perception is an essential skill for the class. But it is kinda likely that the Fae knew that Ilea would meet the conditions for Valkyrie and chose to tell her to definetly pick up storage.

Scott

Also, blink didn't become available until like lvl 10? She might want to level the class up a bit and see if any other options appear.

Scott

What would be great is if space awareness and or space shift merged with her other perception skills, thereby freeing up skill slots.

Scott

The biggest issue i see with displacement is if it has a cooldown. With a cooldown it could be nearly useless depending on the duration but if it has little to no cooldown then it could be the greatest utility and battle controlling skill. Most instances where phase shift would prevent blink, could also be remedied with displacement. Got a sword in the gut? displace it somewhere else. Got a fist in your chest? displace that as well, it works on people. Ally about to get splatted? displace. The high mana cost and extreme situational use of phase shift makes it a low priority. That you can use displacement to cover the same "weakness in blink" makes it worthless. Plus, she has made it this far with that blink limitation. Space shift may even eliminate that weakness as well. I think a lot of her choices depend on other choices. Get the must haves first and then see how they effect other skills.

Lowe K. Lyesmith

It kinda is crunchy - porn, but it really does not feel like it. One of only a few stories that manage to actually get better with time. Where one can go back and read some beloved passage again. Thank you!

Benjamin Powell

For passives it’s a bit harder except for the space shift one... O wish we knew more about lull of battle... maybe reduces mana usage in later tiers

On a side note, downwards force + monster hunter would make every vulnerable person collapse before her. She doesn't need to stop attacks with force either, just push them aside using barely any mana. It could be used a lot in moderation to disrupt powerful opponents, and very intricately if she also gets space awareness. For example, on the side of an ankle of a running foe or the tip of a wing of a flying monster or in the eye of dragon that is watching her attack and timing it's counter attack, making it unable to see her for a split second. Displacement could be a trump card but all the foes that have given her real trouble close any distance too fast or teleport and that skill simply grants a short-range, forced blink on something, so it's only really effective on friendlies.

Benjamin Powell

For active 1. Flare of Creation for the obvious benefits 2. Displacement because it’s broken af and 3. Phase shift for the ability to potentially shift to another plane... it also has in battle usefulness

Connor Bruha

Damn, those are some amazing skills. This is why if I were to find myself on Elos I would go for space magic, it's just so damn cool.

Benjamin Powell

From a story telling perspective I feel that the ability to travel to other planes wins out. Gotta pick phase shift.

These were an amazing couple of chapters and I look forward to reading more. I personally have some thoughts on her choices ... I'd go for versatility and greater ability to fight the abnormally powerful foes which she needs to keep leveling. She doesn't need anything more for fighting weak creatures. Hence, I suggest these... Flare of Creation -> Immunities. Literal immunities to what ultra high level monsters use to neutralise lesser opponents, and at their high tiers they probably have effects that negate normal resistances to shouts like Veteran. Furthermore, any more stat bonuses she gets will get heavily multiplied too, by x8 at the moment. It even adds damage! >_> Phaseshift -> potentially avoid instant death or use to escape. Versatility. Pass through walls, rock and the like, letting her move through dungeons and around traps or through the ground; an absolutely amazing maneuverability skill. It seems like it transfers her to a 'phase' and the use of "shift" and "high mana cost" suggests it's like her wings and requires one cast to change 'phases', rather than consistent channeling. Spaceshift -> Nice movement boost. Great potential synergy with space awareness as they boost each other, if she takes that. Spaceshift is the hands and Awareness is the eyes. Body of the Valkyrie -> resilience is meh. Physical and magic damage resistance makes this essential because she will get the boost on TOP of her resistances, so in the fights that MATTER where she gets a foe with a new element and no resistance that is 800+ or even 1000+, she will not instantly die from having no resistance to it. That universal resistance is godly! But it adds on top possibly making it exponentially more powerful! Furthermore the extra resistance on top of tier 3 resistances will give her extra protection against any skills that reduce her resistances. For the third on passives I'm a little tied between them. Dimensional storage is probably going to grant her own dimension around the 4th or 5th tier which is what the Fae has. Lull of battle could let her fight endlessly against foes she can barely damage but can endure against, potentially letting her take down an elemental or basilisk. Space awareness will let her predict any teleports and has great synergy with spaceshift and phaseshift. It would let her perceive the mysteries revealed by space shift and let give her sight while phaseshifted, as her sphere might be shifted too as it's like her touch ... it's a hard call depending on how it interacts with azarinth sphere, but it would give her the potential to find another "untouched Arcane Shift" and is likely key to traveling between worlds and finding stronger foes.

lenkite

Your picks exactly match mine for the passives. [Space Awareness] will be synergistic with her [Sphere]. For the actives, I think she should choose both [Force] and [Displacement] and [Phase Shift]. The [Flare of Creation] is also enticing but its bonus seems low. The immunities are very useful though.

Geraden

My two cents (it seems I agree with a lot of others): Actives: Flare of Creation - looks to add additional on-hit damage that would stack with her Storm of Cinders and Destruction. Also increases her survivability some, and has a cool aesthetic. Phase Shift - an absolute must in my opinion. This prevents her from being trapped like in her battle against the Ascended. She even mentions that she would have died in that battle, so this is probably the single most important ability she can take. Displacement (or Force) - the general concensus boils the active skills down to these two. My opinion is on Displacement for a couple reasons. One: it's just plain fun to mess with people by moving them around. Two: it may turn out to synergize with her Blink skill in some way at higher tiers. Teleportation is a huge thing to have, and choosing the Displacement over Force could mean she ends up with greater teleportation abilities further on down the road. Passives: Space Shift - for the obvious increase in her Blink ability which is one of her most relied on abilities. An improvement to it can be incredible, and I am excited to think what higher tiers could add. Body of the Valkerie - another one that increases her survivability (again every little bit counts). It seems to go well with her Sentinel Core and other abilities like that. Space Awareness - I am also tempted as others appear to be to go to the storage skill instead, but that doesn't add anything she doesn't already get with her existing, near indestructible top-tier storage necklace already. The space awareness is a perception skill and she relies so much on her Sphere perception skill that if there is a chance at synergy from this one, it will be a big help. Also keep in mind that although yes she already has very high perception, the things most well hidden are also likely to be the most valuable to find. If this helps her detect something she would have otherwise missed in a dungeon or something, then it could end up being something incredible.

Robert Mullins

Not necessarily. Force can also prevent grabs like phase shift and acts as crowd controls. Assuming it's basically barrier magic as I suspect then it would have effectively blocked the most dangerous aspect of fighting multiple spectres. Also 2nd or 3rd tier will probably improve so that it blocks magic or so that it can be used as a cage.

Jeff Gittemeier

Force is useless to Ilea. She could get hit by a firing squad of machine guns and not even notice. She also shouldn't underestimate Dimensional Storage. Sure, she has her necklace, but a sufficiently powerful or specialized entity could take it away or access it. A skill couldn't be stolen or destroyed, and it will grow in power and capacity. Then she could also gift the necklace to someone important to her.

Noble Defect

These would be my personal choices that make the most sense to me. Active – Phaseshift Active – Displacement Active – Shrouding Cloak Passive – Space Shift Passive – Body of the Valkyrie Passive – Lull of Battle

Ivactheseeker

" I could also move a drink from my fridge into my hands without getting up. I like that." Glad to know Ilea has her priorities straight. :D

levon

1 active displacement . The most op ability in existance. Someone shoots an attack to you, switch locations with him or make the att appear behind him. On a later tier of course. Active 2. Flare of cration. 3rd active is force. For the passives I would take the perception one, the storage one and the valkyrie one Valkyrie is just good. Perception sounds like it could lead to a manipulation skill. Or to many other powerfull skills in the future. Perceive space. Can you imagine what Einstein would think? Storage is because of what the fairy said. And nothing exists which can not be broken at some lv

Craig

For active the Flame of Creation, and Displacement abilities are the obvious picks, one is called out in the class description, and the other is straight physics breaking (and the perfect complement to being able to teleport yourself around is being able to teleport everything else too) The question is what she wants to get with the third active skill. Phase Shift or Shrouding cloak. Phase sounds like more out of combat utility (see the high mana cost) but might be completely redundant with her ability to blink herself/other objects, OR it might be completely OP, letting her travel to other planes, it is hard to say. The thing is, no one is talking about how she now has the chance to expand her kit into a completely new direction with Shrouding Cloak. Ilea loves exploring, and something like Shroud would be perfect for her to explore and collect information before getting into conflicts. From a story telling perspective, I really hope she picks the cloak. As for passives, the Body of the Valkyrie and Space Shift are the obvious picks, again one is called out in the class description and both are just too good for her core toolkit to pass up. The question is what she wants for her third point: Lull of battle or Space Awareness. Lull of battle seems great because it is body enhancement which is part of her core toolkit, and attrition is her go-to strategy for punching above her weight-class. The problem is that this passive does not seem to be immediately useful, are we even sure that more stamina would help? Space Awareness seems great because perception skills are broken. Her sphere ability is a total cheat ability at this point. The only way to counter her sphere so far in story is to block it, or to mess with Ilea's ability to notice what she is seeing

Jay Eskew

I’m wondering if core skill points do something unique like letting someone modify their class skills with new effects. For example like Ilea spends 5 core skill points to make her Destruction ability burn mana or stamina

Michael Nistler

I feel like Body, Lull, and space shift she'll go for passives.

Atlas Dwarf

Hm I wonder if the 3rd Class will get more Skill slots with Evolutions. The subdued part makes it sound like it doesn't but the Fae also said it could be nurtured into something more. The grind to 2nd lvl 20 Skills should be fun especially when she might get offered more Skills halfway through. Hopefully she doesn't completely over shoot lvl 200.

nooooo! I gotta know what she picks & the details

Kudos to the author for creating classes and skill that are relevant to the story and character. There's an ongoing, long running theme in which progression is specific to each character. I think this interesting, adding depth to the characters, story, and world building.

tibbish

Its 5 for each lvl in her 2 main classes a piece (so 10 if she lvls both). We don't know yet if it'll be the same for her 3rd class but I'd assume so. Getting 15 stat points each time she lvls all 3 will be nice for her.

LA

How many stat points do you think she gets pr level? I am thinking 3...

tibbish

Doesn't her T2 Stamina Drain Res. let her trade hp/mp for stamina now? With her mana regen rate I don't think she'll hardly ever want for stamina if so.

Abraham

Dang it I want the next chapter lol. She said she's taking force and space shift already and flare of creation is the only body enhancement for the active skills so she's gonna take that to keep the body enhancement bonus for future class evolutions. Body of the valkyrie for same reasons as well as the fact its just plane good and stacks with flare of creation. As for the last 2 skills no fricking idea. I think both phase shift and displacement are good and compliment force as well as would have helped when she fought the ascended. I think for active it will be between these too, I would pick phase shift. I think author will pick lull of battle for last passive amd turn it into a burn extra stamina to push body beyond its limits or extra damage or something since stamina has been pretty useless so far and she will need to level it for her azarinth skill that depends on lowest stat. I would pick the space dimension though becuase of the potential possibilities as well as the fact that shes already been warned about the effects of the space items bonding with the soul or something.

tibbish

We don't know yet. That her friends didn't comment on it suggests to me that her tag didn't change at all.

Rommelfanger Bob

One point no one touched on, will she still be shown/identified as a healer or as a valkyrie?

tibbish

Don't think they're gonna do that. We don't really know what they do yet but skill caps seem to be something pretty fundamental to the system and you seem to need to either level and evolve or perform incredible feats to raise them. Now if these Core Points can allow you get get more skills for your class or General skills than I think that'd be a bigger deal than just raising a skill cap. That would greatly increase her capabilities and give her lots more utility for not just combat but other stuff too!

Alsia

Thanks for the chapter! She has so many choices :D I've had to read them multiple times (man I wish I was Ilea). It's going to be so hard for her to choose which abilities she wants. Super torn, but if I were her I'd go something like: Active - Flare of Creation Active - Displacement Active - Force Passive - Body of Valkyrie Passive - Space Shift Passive - Lull of Battle

tibbish

Yeah gotta agree with your reasoning. Over all the effect of Force is about the same in terms of utility too so there really isn't much of a potential downside either. Any downsides would probably be very situational at best.

M. Gunnarsson

That hurt. *claps*

Robert Mullins

The real third class was (from) the friends we made along the way.

Cadastral

The skill only specifies Endurance, so only her stamina usage would decrease, which is her least-used pool. Maybe 2nd or 3rd tier would affect Wisdom or Vitality, but it would be a gamble

Matthew D

I would agree on all of those except for Dimension storage. I believe Space Awareness would be better. The long term benefits would be insane. Most likely helping her on her journey to other realms. Also Space Awareness is a Body Enhancement – Perception Aura type ability which would probably improve her abilities in those areas even more

There's some debate about whether force or displacement is better. Because space resistance exists, I'd argue that force is better. Getting second tier space resistance onwards means it's harder to be displaced. The resistance might seem rare but not absent, esp if she is going to fight the ascended in the future. We don't know how resistance will affect force but presumably, it'll still have an effect albeit reduced. That can mean life and death in close combat which Ilea specialises in. Edit: I'll like to also point out that phaseshift likely removes a limitation of blink. She can't use blink if she is touching an enemy. Using phaseshift then blink sounds like the perfect life-saving combo. Her weakness of being pinned down and slowly destroyed? Gone.

Philippe Boulanger

I feel the best choice for Ilea is : * Active: - Flare of Creation (the body enhancement at 3rd tier will be pretty good) - Phaseshift (let pass through spell and trap/door that are runes against teleporting through, which she was trap by that multiple time in the past) (will probably work like the Phase Twins in the car chase in the Matrix) - Force (let her be a Jedi and stop attack reaching her) (Displacement would be good to help other but won’t have that much gain for her) * Passive: - Space Shift (better Blink is good) - Body of the Valkyrie (the body enhancement at 3rd tier will be pretty good) - Dimension storage (probably will have a room our house at 3rd tier. Will help her relaxes in dungeon and store more awesome food. Probably will also enable to store living things)

Zarik0

Active - Flare of Creation (dealing damage to mana and construct (barrier magical spell etc) Active – Force (push away people and all other shit so she can tele if someone grab her, some cc is good) for the last Active – Phaseshift or Active – Displacement (phaseshift only adventage is maybe escape if something grab her she dont need to "dodge" she have already insane mobility for dodge and insane resilience and it cost a lot of mana for not really something usefull, displacement with force combo can get her insane cc and mobility + it cover her "weaknes" if something grab her she cn push or telepot away the ennemie and blink after and its only tier 1 imagine later what this double combo cc skill space can do) Passive – Space Shift (off course its obligatory to good to pass) Passive – Body of the Valkyrie (body enhancement resilience physcal damage and MAGICAL and some cc spell defense its op omg and its only tier 1 :)))) for the last i think Passive – Lull of Battle is better (body enhancement and the last stat endurance she is weak after and remenber its only tier 1 (it cover a weakness she have and the later evolution we maybe have something amazing on this ) Passive – Dimension storage bof she have it better other spell for cover weaness or use the insane bonus she have in resilience and body enhancement, Passive – Space Awareness yeah maybe other think is good but Passive – Lull of Battle is way better for cover weakness and maybe some amazing shit later like endurance is linked to mana or some shit for more heal resilience she already have the sphere for perception and a lot of other skill and some resistence augmente her perception sometime so its not really helpfull well maybe it can combo with force and displacement and blink (Space Shift) but Passive – Lull of Battle cover stamina the only stat she have nothing for it and we can expect some shit later with it

Christian Basso

Well, the most interesting aspect of a skill might be in the second or third stage but she doesn't have a way to see that

Chad Hagner

Yes! This is such a cool class and a lot of the abilities compliment her classes she has already! I'm excited to see her in action now with the new class!!! Can anyone else picture Ash and wings with white fire blazing on them?!?

I think Flare of Creation it's a must though the same for Phaseshift. I'd go for Dissplacement over Force considering that she can also use it on allies to get them away from harm or to move enemies towards herself. This class gimmick should revolve around the flame of creation so both Flare of creation and Body of the Valkerie should make it on her final selection. I also don't think they get to keep the skill levels if they change the skill for another one.

fbt

Yeah, this class seemed the best option, glad she took it. At this pt, I think, were I in her shoes, I'd go flare of creation (DOT body enh), phaseshift (currently she can get CC'd since contact disables blink), body of valkyre (body enh, toughness), space shift (better teleports, accel learing about spatial will help skill acq/growth), and forceshield (likely sphere at higher tiers, block major incoming, defend allies, etc). But, then, in her shoes I'd have gone a wholly diff path long ago so who knows! :) TYVM for the big pile of updates, rereading these will make for a happy afternoon :) Yaaaaay! Nice to see the return of the friendly banter.

Han Pol

Also congratulation on reaching 2000 patrons.

Arkeus

Also, she should get the Spears tech, so that she has Ilea's Spears.

Hayden Pech

Hahaha yes! Finally

FrostyNips

Releasing what we wanted all in one go? Now that’s good fan service

Straven

Oh that was some nice classes. Thanks for the chapter.

My chosen are: Active - Flare of Creation Active – Force Active – Phaseshift Passive – Space Shift Passive – Dimension storage Passive – Body of the Valkyrie Also these two are very temping as well. The Lull of Battle especially would cover the last resource she's missing(mana/health/stamina). Active – Displacement Passive – Lull of Battle

She can already percieve teleports with her current perception sphere, she wants to travel back to earth so outer space travelling or different realm teleporting might benefit from space awareness.

REPOsPuNKy

Ok, I havent seen anyone talk about it yet, so I will. In my opinion, lull of battle would be absolutely broken. Less endurance needed as a fight goes on? What is her main advantage now? Staying power in battle. She out lasts everything that she encounters now. This skill, if I am interpreting things right, means that not only does she have to spend less on her skills as the battle progresses, she would be actively getting stronger as the fight goes on, since she has the ability to spend less for more oomph in her abilities. Now I could be reading this wrong, but it is vaguely worded enough that it could be the skill to make the difference between surviving a four mark and fighting one. As for the other passives, space shift is probably second best because it would allow her to gain the other two passives with time and effort spend learning them, as it increases her ability to effect and learn about space.

Eofad

Hmmmm. Well she is first and foremost a Body Enhancer so I think she should get Flare of Creation and Body of the Valkyrie. That leaves two active slots and two passive slots. One of her weakness is her inability to teleport away when in physical contact with her opponent, so Phaseshift is a good idea. I’d then go with either Displacement or Force for the final active slot as means of enhancing battlefield control. I’d then go with Space Shift for it’s synergy with Blink, then either Space Awareness or Demensional Storage for the Passives. So: Active - Flare of Creation Active - Phaseshift Active - Displacement or Force Passive - Body of the Valkyrie Passive - Space Shift Passive - Space Awareness or Dimensional Storage Also I’m pretty sure she can select a skill, see it’s full description and then go nah I think I’ll try the other one. So maybe she should try Dimensional Storage and see if it has anything interesting on the size/abilities of it then go with Space Awareness I’d it’s underwhelming. I mean if Dimensional Storage might turn out to have more capacity than all her current storage items combined, in addition to being part of her rather than something that could be stolen. If that’s the case it’s value may go up. But if it turns out to suck she could replace it.

PlasmaticPi

For passives I think Space Awareness, Space Shift, and Body of the Valkyrie.

carebear90

So... the core skill points can be used on all of her 3 classes? I guess this is how she advances to 4th tier skills?

PlasmaticPi

For actives I think Flare of Creation, Displacement, and Force. The others are either already covered by other skills or not her style.

Sean Robbins

why would she want to?

Han Pol

Body of the Valkyrie Increases your physical damage resistance by 5% this is a first one right?

PrimordialJay

I agree. The Flare of Creation would be cool but it doesn't benefit her as much. Same with Dimensional Storage, it would be nice to have but isn't as beneficial.

Sean Robbins

hmmm...🤔 thats interesting i was thinking it could be used to upgrade her ability's without waiting for 4th tier and 5th tier and so ability points?

Seb

I agree! I don't think that she really needs the storage space, the perception just has more potential in the 2nd and 3rd tier

DierBloodRose

Body of the Valkyrie, space shift, space awareness, Displacement, force, and phaseshift are the skills I'd pick. Just for the simple reason of compatibility with her other classes.

Grond (James)

I wonder if space awareness will be helpful for when she inevitably tries to cross dimensions to go back to Earth

Robert Mullins

Ilea doesn't choose only what's optimal. She also chooses what she thinks will be cool or fun.

Sean Ulrich

With spatial awareness she might be able to ‘see’ super-fae

Alexander Dupree

Thanks for the chapters. The conversations were a bit awkward. Not sure how to fix.

Marco Zorbach

I think it all hinges on the hidden benefit of the core class skill points. If all they did was to allow Ilea to buy 3rd tier skills, there would be no need to rename the points. Personally, I think that they will allow her to buy additional skill slots in her new class, and by buying 5 of them she would have enough points left over to get all of her skills to third tier. In addition to letting Ilea get all of those nifty skills she is drooling over, it would make all of the grinding she has been doing worth it. Remember that she was told that the more achievements she had before advancing, the better her class would be, and I think this is just a more direct way of showing the benefits of what she has done, since her grinding was not necessary for the class itself. Edit: I do think, however, that if this the case the awarding of core skill points should only be done when someone gains an extra class, or else the mechanic would be way too overpowered, essentially allowing someone to gain new skills indefinitely as long as they made new achievements and had spare skills for their classes that they hadn't learned yet.

Max Scherer

OMG please let the third tier skills be upgradeable with the core skill points. Damn i love it its great!

Corwin Amber

'could really harm met' met -> me

Master of Bunnies

Someone must have sacrificed a goat or a virgin.

Keifru

Well, now she needs to rebrand her pseudonym as 'Lenneth' due to being a Valkyrie. Going to be a pain in the ass to do so though. Time to bribe some bards!

wanderer117

Was that normal at some point?

SoggyBiscuit

But she alredy has a sphere that can she use to percieve everything like 40 meters around her, why would she need another one. My vote for the third passive skill would either be Lull of Battle, because it benefits from her Body Enhancement bonuses, or Dimension Storage because it can store her most valuable things without the possibility of them being stolen, and it might even be able to store living beings in the upper tiers.

Felix1210

I see you're also reading "The New World".

Endoria

Finally. 3 chapters on a saturday too. Thank you!

Arkeus

I think Displacement is better than Force even for Ilea's fighting style, but that she will choose Force because it looks cooler. One of the main advantage of Displacement is how it probably already benefits from Space Shift, too. Anyway, Active - Flare of Creation - Seems like the mainline offensive empowerement of the class that's called out on class selection. Also, 'lingering damage' is always good in attrition battles. Active – Displacement - Really good crowd control, scale with space shift. Active – Phaseshift - Fit right in with blinks in usual melee battle, and probably is really good against grapples. Passive – Space Shift - Just a mainline skill that enhance all her other skills but Flare. Passive – Body of the Valkyrie - Not so strong, but it's also called out for the class, and will likely scale well as it tiers up and evolve. Reminiscent of Body of Azarinth and Body of Ash, which turned into Sentinel Core and Avatar of Ash respectively. Passive – Space Awareness - Extremely useful for basically every fights and not to be taken unaware, and likely makes all other space skills better.

Erdos

Thanks

I disagree with Force being a choice. Other actives too important - Neo being Neo isn't enough of a reason to waste a slot

She is becoming a phoenix

Tunyx Gut

Thanks for the triple release. Liked this class immediately after reading the name. The skills sound cool too.

Chopper

Displacement and Force are the best looking, and have the most potential to be interesting at 2nd and 3rd stage. The third active is hard to choose... If she can use Phaseshift and then blink it would make her nearly impossible to pin down. It all depends on what kind of magics can still hold her in place even during a phaseshift. I think flare of creation would help her damage output considerably though. Something Ilea has never really done though is change her skills, which she should be able to do at will yes? Swapping between the two depending on the situation would be ideal...

Tim Deral

Ayyy Here we Go! I am Fully satisfied now 🥰🥰

4th tier skills probably

Arnon Parenti

Achievement unlocked, level a class from 1 to 200 in a single battle. displaced the griffin grandaddy into the tarakov's mouth, you've been a breath of fresh air my feathered friend, this battle was a breeze.

Ensos2

I personally do not feel like she is getting anything overpowered for the simple reason that it feels like she earned those abilities. The only problems I see are grammatical and sometimes spelling errors (They are far and few between). Are you using any program for that?

Claus Jørgensen

i think the core points is for level/skills in her new class

Tommy Littlefield

I think I might love you

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter. My choices: Active - Flare of Creation - Body Enhancement, sac life for damage and creation fire sounds like a good thing to have Active – Displacement - Teleportation related, space control and anti-teleport for opponents Active – Phaseshift - Trump card, hail mary skeleton key and may lead to other world travel Passive – Space Shift - Improves teleport and will lead to boosted teleport later. Passive – Body of the Valkyrie - Body Enhancement, make creation flame part of you and is named after class so kinda seems important Passive – Space Awareness - Body Enahncement and will help with other space stuff

Eldar Kersebaum

<3

William

Flare of Creation Force Phaseshift Space Shift Body of the Valkyrie Lull of Battle theoretically she could become an orbital bombardment as she enters different planes/planets.

Itsurmom

-Does happy dance!-

Arkeus

Poor Trian. I feel you man.

Bigmelc

If I was choosing the skills I would get. Spear of creation good offense against magic which she doesn't have. Force because it very versatile. Phaseshift it covers her biggest weakness of getting pined down. Space awareness will help with teleporting enemies which a lot of people have. Space shift to better her blink skill. Body of of the Valkyrie

Jonathan Walker

Yasssssssssss 3 chapters all of which are on her third fucking badass class yassssss

Sean Ulrich

Alright, let’s get down to business. Passives are easier: space perception, better teleports, body enhancement. Actives are harder: flare of creation, force, phase shift or displacement? All of them look amazing. I’m curious how they compare to her other skills. I also just had an epiphany, ash comes from fire, so what about ash from the fires of creation? Azarinth magic is mainly around restoration, but I can see it relating back to creation. Interesting possibilities for her Lv 500 evolution.

Michael scott

Thanks for the chapters. I knew she would choose the Fae class as soon as I saw it. So with the 3rd class at level 1, once she kills a level 600 monster will the XP split into all 3 classes evenly. Man that 3rd class will level insane for the first 200 levels.

ClapTrapCL4TP

Phase shift needs Dimensional Storage

Story Seeker

Thanks for the triple.

agentjongon

Yoooooooo. This exceeded my expectations. Damn this is so epic

Jacqui Andronicos

It's normally in difficulty to unlock as well I think. So you can also just take that to be that she takes the hardest one.

Thanks for the chapters

Christian Basso

Btw, you know you always put last the choice you're gonna go with, right?

Chase Clawson

Woo! Already love the class, and we haven't even seen any other skills from it, much less 2nd and 3rd tiers of these!

Scott

What sorcery is this?!? Triple release?!?

G. Harthane

Also let me know about inconsistencies, bad ideas, too overpowered stuff and the like. These chapters were a lot of work but I'm happy to adjust things.

Sebastian Prue

Oh my, I don't know what to do after this triple release. G. Harthane is a madman and I love it

Detrox

Ok you are the Legend.

Manamaw

Oh baby a triple

G. Harthane

Now fuck off
